Neil (@OperationROL ) and I were invited to preview the new 2023 FSH Sport E in Destin FL, below is the video we took while checking out the boat. Clearly we need to invest more in sound recording equipment as the wind was a problem! Occasionally you will also hear a jet in the background....yes Destin is close to a major Air Force Base and we had to stop recording a number of times has jets flew over. We were also unable to use the drone as they jam them (which one of the other vendors discovered only after their drone dropped into the water out of control when a jet flew over!)

I hope you enjoy our walk through, please feel free to ask questions here and we'll do our best to answer them!

What does the top speed look like on the 222 FSH Sport E?

Julian, did you get to hit any chop on it or take out into the Gulf? Wondering how the new hull design handles it.

I thought the boats handled the chop pretty well. We only saw about 1ft or so and crossed over another boat's wake but noticed that it handled well and didn't do much walking.

I see on the Yamaha website that they market it as from "Fish to Wake". I was wondering if either of you saw or know if there is an upper tow point on any off the 22' FSH models?

No upper tow point on the 22 FSH.

Do you know if both 222 fsh models include the hard top? The web site shows both as canvas on the full specs for both (sport and E). The E is about 300 lbs heavier than the sport though.

Pretty sure both 222 FSH models have the hard top and the 220 is canvas top. I will confirm.

Solid walk around! Wife and I had been back and forth between upgrading our 21 FSH 195 Sport to a FSH 210 or FSH 252/255. I kept telling her the negatives or the 252/255 were the price and on the 210…lower side walls, weaker motors, small gas tank…they fixed all of those issue with this boat! Although the E model is up there in price, the 222 FSH Sport hits the mark and price point for our budget. Seems like you lose the hard top, clear live well top and the full front windshield with the non E 222 Sport.

I’m hoping we can place an order for one and it come in next spring.

Thanks for the walkthrough. Was planning to order a 210 FSH Sport, but this 222 FSH has me researching all the differences. In the video, I did not see you open the starboard side front cabinet behind the bow seats. Did they add the tackle organizers and drawer in there, like they have the 25'? FYI - My registration required me to enter what boat we own. Used the boat we "want" to own, but we don't have one, yet. Thanks!

At the time they had not decided on the final configuration for that storage area so we did not want to mislead anyone by showing the configuration on this demo boat. I am not sure where they landed but can inquire.

RIP Drone

RIP Drone
That sucks, but at least now you're a true drone operator. Almost everyone with a drone is using the replacement they purchased after the crash (or splash). Almost inevitable.

I assume the rest of the story is coming?

Oh no @Coult45, fortunately not my drone. I was referring to the drone that died over the water in Julian's post at the top. Jammed by the Air Force and down to Davy Jones' locker.

I did have a crash on day two with my drone last month, but came out unscathed. Darn trees come out of nowhere! lol

Ha! Good news! I completely missed that comment from Julian.

Julian and co - a few quick questions as probably changing my 252FSH order to the 222 FSHe :

- how does the space onboard feel around the helm, similar height on controls/as the 252/255?

- realize you didn’t see too much chop, trim tabs needed in your opinion ?

Thanks.

Helm feels very similar, the huge difference is the big bench behind the 255/2 boats.

I'm not sure on the trim tabs....I've never had them, Neil has, and he says it would be something to see once you try out rougher water (which we didn't have)
