Another Disappointment with the Scarab Jet Boat and REC Boat Holdings

Just got a call from MarineMax Pensacola (voicemail). Tom said that BRP has been on the phone with them and that they were going through every possible part they may need for the boat. Tom went onto say that Mike Stefani called him and asked if there was anything that he could do. I am now a little confused on what is going on. I tried calling Tom back, but he didn't answer...

Wow, that is some serious good news.

You have RBH + BRP + MarineMax working for you

I just talked to Tom, MM Pensacola, and he said that he was being proactive and sent his contact at BRP the picture at the beginning of this post... They have already sent all possible parts that they (MM Pensacola) are going to need for the repair. I expressed to Tom that I have some concerns that the engine may have been compromised and he said that Eric, BRP Tech, was going to go over then entire engine to ensure that it is good to go.. MarineMax Pensacola ROCKS!!:winkingthumbsup" This is the sort of customer service we need to get from RBH. Not getting booger flicked. I am heading to Pensacola in the morning..

I had to re-verify this for myself because 50K for any 19ft boat is WAY over market value. According to scarab's website...the boat starts at ~$36K as I had correctly stated. If you add LITERALLY every option they offer the price goes to ~$50K. (All of these numbers are sticker price, no one pays sticker on new boats)

Needless to say, considering/calling this boat a $50K boat...is more than a stretch of the facts.

That s great , but that's the wrong boat bud ! The boat that slugger 55 has is a 195 HO impulse edition !
I just bought a 2016 195 HOI with some extras and rang up to 49,495 retail after the discounts it was 43,995 before tax and prep . Sooooo yeah I'd say its roughly a 50 k boat

Your correct, I didn't scroll down the page and see there were 2 additional models/versions offered. $50K for a 19ft lake boat...ludicrous is the only thing that comes to mind.
But as you stated its on the budget end of the boating spectrum and ya get what ya pay basically.

@ClemsonTiger Price point and affordability is with the person who makes the purchase. We try and help the future buyers with a thread in this section. If you don't like or think its affordable or makes sense in your mind, then it your opinion. Im pretty sure you paid a pretty penny for your Tidewater that some of us find ludacris as well.

$50k for a 19 foot wake or ski boat seems to be on the low end but I'm thinking of MasterCrafts, Malibus, etc. not an entry level bayliner or stingray. I used to have a master craft dealer near me and never saw a boat on their lot for less than $60k. with the exception of Yamaha for jet boats I've heard no manufacturers stick to their Msrps. Either way, if I'm in the OPs position I'd expect to be treated like their most important customer if they want any repeat business from me. The first boat is "only" $50k but what's the second, third, etc. going to cost me and potentially make them? same goes for maintenance.

I'm glad scarab is finally stepping up on this and hope it continues for other customers who bought their products which turned out to be lemons.

Its like me going on a thread you started (hypothetically) about hydraulic issues with your steering, and saying that your $60k boat is way overpriced for what it is.

I thought it was common knowledge that all posts from anyone are opinions only.

If I need to preface all posts with a disclaimer stating that it is only my opinion....ok

Your original comment you posted when you hijacked this thread was kind of a dick statement, so I called ya out on it .

You guys crack me up! As Mikey L would say: "play nice in the sand box".

@Slugger55 keep us posted, this sounds like a pretty good development.

Children!!! Don't make @Julian come over there!!!:winkingthumbsup"

That would be fine. If anyone takes anything from any message board personally then there are larger issues at play.

Ok! Boat has been delivered to MM Pensacola (after watching a teenager flip a car in the middle of I10 and rolling the car multiple times. I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw it happen). Tom said that the parts were coming in today. I told him that I had a concern about the engine being compromised. He said that Eric, the Tech, was going to check everything that may have been touched by the Tech who installed the motor and he was going do a compression test. We will see.....

Glad to hear that you are finally getting treated properly. If you don't mind me asking who did you finally get ahold of to help you out?

I talked to Mike Stefani at Scarab Warranty; but he wasn't the dude who got things going. I haven't finished with him yet. Tom, the Service Tech, at MarineMax Pensacola is the guy who got things rolling. He was proactive and he forwarded the picture that I posted at the beginning of this thread to BRP. They sent all possible parts they could think of. The parts showed up the same day I delivered the boat..

This is what happens when you have a DUMB A** works on your boat...
