Looks like Harvey is going strike dead center in my old stomping grounds of Rockport/Port A with a vengeance. Is anyone here from the area that can report any info?

Best of luck to all in that area!

Houston area here......not knowing what to expect after the initial landfall!

I have family that has property in Rockport, but fortunately they live in Alaska this time of year. They have neighbors that are staying to ride it out and keep an eye on things. I also have family in and around Houston that are staying put for now. Fingers crossed that they all make it through this unhurt.

Man, depending where they are in Rockport I don't know that I would advise staying there... God speed to their neighbors!

I don't know what part of Rockport they're in since I've never been to their house. I do know it's a brick house so it's not on sticks. I know I wouldn't want to be there with a category 3 headed straight for me. No way!! I'm glad that my Aunt and Uncle are where they are, but I'm afraid there might not be anything left to come back to.

Edit: just looked up the tide timing... could hardly have been worse for storm surge... thoughts and prayers for those suffering through this
