Don't ignore your bilge area! Broken clamps, loose straps and water intrusion is common. My latest video is worth the watch and provides a great tip for dealing with problems and stripped screws on your access hatch.

Great video Captain Leon. I would have replaced every clamp in there while I was in there…SS of course.

This was a great video! I hate to say but I've never opened my bilge hatch in the 5 years that I've owned the boat.

Last weekend we took the boat out for a short time, no water sports or anything and I notice quite a bit of water that came out out of the drain when we pulled the boat out. This video has given me the inspiration to inspect the bilge area for leaks!

Much appreciated Leon.

Add a check valve to the tray drain hose next time you’re in there. Would resolve a lot of the water entering from the tray area to begin. Nice job in the seal.

I don't know if there was any closure on this - how did the rubber seal work, compared to using silicone?

I used a different type of seal that seemed to work quite well, but there's one area of my hatch that's not flat, and that's the only area that still leaks. Your bulb seal seems like it would conform better to the odd gap I havr

So far so good. It could be leaking a little but I really wouldn't know, seems to be holding back the majority of the water.
