Bimini 2014-June 22

I have been watching the water conditions as well. Can't wait until we see the 23rd in the seven day forecast.

http://www.sailflow.com/map#25.948,-79.329,10,1 is showing calm waters now with the wind and waves picking up to 17mph and 3 feet by the 15th then dropping off a little on the 16th.

What are you guys doing about dry storage for the crossing? We ordered a couple of dry bags for our clothes for the crossing - Dry Bags for Yamaha SX230 / AR230 Ski Locker.

we have drybags from ye ole canoeing days and plastic tubs with a decent snap lid. for as rough as it was last year everything stayed dry.

yesterday I bought new radials for the trailer....

the last item on the list...after long searching to find a reasonable $$ spend..........was tinted windows....Just called to make the appointment for next week....The dude is on VACATION....NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO !!!!!!!!

@justason , Tinted windows for the boat or the tow vehicle?

What is everyone brining for spare parts? I am brining spark plugs and bulbs for the bow and stern light.

Rum??? why bring it from the states when it is about 1/2 the price in Bimini.

In addition to what others are bringing as spare parts, I am bringing 2 quarts of oil and an assortment of hose clamps that I picked up a harbor freight.

For food, I am planning on Sunday to stop at Publix which is just south of Harbor Town to pick my perishable food.

I havent put together my list yet. But off the top of my head, and something that hasnt been mentioned yet, is all of my insurance information and registration.

Also I am bringing my 12v pump that I used to pump antifreeze into the cooling ports during the winter, as a manual bilge pump.

Glad you mentioned it, I always have mine on me and don't think about it. Last year for the first time the Bahama Customs wanted to see your boat registration when clearing customs, they did not ask for insurance info.

this is SPARE RUM......I do recall making 2 trips to the package store..only to find the staff "on break".......Bimini time as Upperdeck calls it.......must be the same crew for refilling the scuba tanks..they were on break a lot as well......never found the cigar shop open across the interstate from BIG game club.

oil and clamps are part of my spares kit as well, good call , slipped me mind.. and zip ties..and batteries....

hmmm spare parts, maybe just lots of alcohol to pass the time. No worries on getting back if stranded in Bimini :winkingthumbsup"

oil, plugs, rope, tarp, TOO much food and probably way TOO much Alcohol... that'l do er', and we'll fix it when when we get home !
Almost forgot.... ARRRRRRR we there yet?:jimlad::jimlad:

Hi @tim h YES, harbortowne has hoses for rinse....Its a small area, I think @andy07sx230ho and I consumed the area with our two boats..they may be more but they didn't catch my eye

Keep in mind the launches here are STEEP......if you can hit this spot at high tide it would be to your advantage....based on the length of your trailer....Is the frame high off the ground near the hitch ?

Ok good, maybe i'll bring a garden hose splitter so we can share water...
YES the tongue is high at the truck. I had to turn my 4" drop hitch over and now is a rise...
I'll look at when tide is on Sunday.

In the high tide and low tide chart, we can see that the first high tide will be at 4:40 am and the next high tide at 5:28 pm.
The first low tide will be at 11:03 am and the next low tide at 11:33 pm.

looks like we will arrive right at low tide. I might suggest throwing some chains or tow straps in your truck. hook up a couple trucks and she'll come out!

I am with @justason I have only seen the water at the spot he has circled and there has always been 2 long hoses available for use. A hose wye and additional hose will help but we one need one, there is not enough room for more than 3 boats to cleanup at a time. I have one of those collapsible hose I will bring.

hit enter too fast before I could clean up data. I guess we are more concerned about retrieval. High tide on the 28th is about 10 AM. We should be OK on that..
