Finally getting online... Great to meet everyone and what an awesome trip and experience. We rolled in at Midnight Saturday. Cleaned things up yesterday and back to breaking rocks today.

May take a week or so to compile all the video and pics to see what comes out of it all. Beautiful area and hope to make it again!!!

I stay away from Gulf shrimp and fish ever since the BP conundrum.

Great videos!

You guys got out of there just in time!! Our first tropical storm is forming over the area now.

@jdiaz78, I drove from Arkansas and another boat came from Branson. You can drive from KC.

We just unpacked, I hope everyone else is home.

Damn, that is a drive. How much did you spend on gas to get back and forth? My truck only gets 12 m.p.h. when I'm towing my boat...that can get expensive quick!

@jdiaz78, my truck gets around 10 mpg towing our SX230 at 70 to 80 on the highway. I didn't keep receipts but I was expecting 240 gallons for the 2,400 mile round trip.

Really Awesome trip !!! Wish we weren't in California ...
..did I say that?

You might be able to rent a boat over in Ft. Lauderdale and go next year!!

This is what greeted us on the way into the fort lauderdale harbor. It is the USNS Spearhead, a twin jet driven troop and equipment hauler.

I built that boat! It's quad jets. Two on each side. Thing will run 45knots if I'm not mistaken.

And I've read every single page. Awesome trip guys and ladies.

That link is to a public album on Facebook where I've already got a lot of photos up if anyone is interested. Also, who took the photos at honeymoon harbour after I proposed? I'd really like to see those!

Thanks, I can't wait to see them! We saw the hammerhead at a reef a local told me about. It was a mile or so south of the island.

Here are my trip totals. This is only what are our up front costs were... not including money spent on other items on the island and in transit.

Activity Actual
Bahia Mar $ 219.78
Bahia Mar Marina (per foot) $ 38.16
Truck Parking $ 56.00
Bimini Sands Hotel $ 1,586.25
Boat Slip $ 225.00
Truck Gas $ 754.68
Boat Gas $ 620.72
Bimini Customs $ 150.00
Bimini Customs 2 Extra person $ 40.00
Days Inn Savannah $ 205.38
Country Inn $ 179.67
PLB Rental $ 115.00
Food/Alcohol $ 682.00
Jetboater Shirts $ 100.00
Totals $ 4,972.64
Per Person
$ 994.53

We only spent $460 on gas in Bimini, and came home with 3/4 tank of gas and 10 gallons in external tanks.

One of the days we didnt use the boat at all. Instead we rented a golf cart for the day @ $90.

I cant even begin to add up my expenses for getting ready for the trip. That's definitely in the thousands.

Even still I could justify this trip on the sense of adventure alone. I have a n extremely nasty respect for the awesome power of water, specially deep water. I've had nightmares of walls of water. But this is just one of those things that sets off something primal. I would absolutely love to do this. It's my Everest for sure!!!
