Bimini 2019 July 7th (Bahia Mar) depart July 8th for Bimini return July 13th

If it were me and my family I’d wait a couple hours for the rain to settle down. Presuming it clears up then I’d still leave Today. Tomorrow’s forecast per SAILFLOW show a very rough ride that I’d rather not put my family through.

Leaving today really is not an option for me, I'm monitoring forecast looking for the best window tomorrow.

Both Sailflow and Windy show a window of departure between 11am and 1pm Saturday as the best we're going to get. Unless I am missing something.

I agree. You need to be sure that these storms are dissipating and not growing. The last thing you want it to be struck by lightening in a small boat. Storms in Florida typically have lightening. And typically they grow during the day as heat builds.

standing by.

kindly let know as you have more resources than us in the island

I disagree. You guys have internet and access to the same apps. But most importantly you can look up and see what the weather is looking like. You should be able to see 10 or 20 miles west of you.

The next reasonable crossing window is Monday.

It looks like just rain and smooth water between Bimini and Florida now.

If I was there and wanted to go home before the wind dies down I would go now.

Looks like it is clearing nicely. Your biggest risk now appears to be storms in Florida....so as you approach you should watch ahead and detour south if need be to enter at Haulover. The sooner you get into the intercoastal amongst buildings, the less wind and lightening risk you have. Please keep us posted of your plans and when you depart and arrive.

Made it to Everglades inlet in 2.5 hrs!!!

smooth As coming over?

The forecast shows that you have a few hours of good crossing weather left.

The forecast does not show 1 footers agin until the 18th.

I ran into 2s going between north and south islands. Wasn’t bad at all. Also spoke to a boat that just came over, he said the bimini side is rougher than Florida.

Nope, much more chop. We probably were around 18-20 for first 10 miles, but steadily bumped up the speed to 29-31.

If the forecast is correct and you cross this weekend you will have quite a story to tell.

I take my hat off to you, Sir!!!
Well done!

I'm seeing same thing. No choice for me. Crossing from Bimini Sands at Noon .

Dennis, Lenny, Jose all confirmed.
We passed the outbound group about half way....they were cruising!
I’m seeing forecasts for 2 footers every 4. Am I missing something? That’s manageable.

Two footers, real two footers not what looks like two footers, rocking your boat side to side with winds in the mid teens. For three hours......

The wave forecast looks similar to the 2016 return but the wind is much higher. Typically when the wind is more than 10 MPH it gets nasty out there.

Two things:
1) stay safe, slow for the huge swells, we had some that got air under the boat.
2) use the CBP app, incredibly easy to clear customs.

Wait till you have a crossing where you are constantly hearing the jets break free of the water!
Coming back last year i thought the jet ski group was my group and tried to catch up. I flew home! Meaning we were airborne more than in the water!
2 footers in my experience while manageable is miserable for that long.
Just be safe!
