Bimini 2020 - early interest - dates TBD

@LeeFlan7 It all depends on how much your crew can take and how the weather looks like. The rule of thumb is if you cannot maintain 20mph you probably should go back.

there at least a couple of boats that I believe they are towing from the PA area. Right now there are at least 2 threats talking about BiMini 2020. If I were you I would start reading on preparing Bimini threat.
I believe in January is when the dates get set.

@Betik thanks for the reply, I'll keep an eye on both threads...need to do the research and make sure the wife is as comfortable as possible with everything.

I'm going to keep an eye on this trip, its either this or over to England. The fact that there are people from PA showing interest also helps.
For those who have done the trip in a 21 how was the crossing and what kind of speeds were you able to maintain?
212ss here. I felt the 24' boats were pressing forward easily and i had to be careful to be outside their wake. This was good conditions. On the way back it was much rougher but then again i was originally trying to keep up with the jet ski group not realizing the boats were a bit behind us.
I bought trim tabs and have started installing to test the heck out of them early spring. Hope that puts us on even playing field.
Speeds weren't the problem it was the splashing with wind on my bow so we got soaked. The 24 footers are much deeper.

she can always fly in or take the ferry. If 2020 turns out to be like 2018 then I am sure she will be fine. But if you get a 2017 surprise then it is whole different ball game ......

The ferry might actually be a good idea
My SIL wants to come with us this time and i am leaning towards telling her she HAS to take it. She may thank me later lol.

in laws are usually bad news for crossings.

we have documented stories of in laws talking everyone to abandon ship ( against skippers advice to stay on the boat).

It's my wife's twin and they are of a competitive and stubborn blood. Hey wait, so am i! Well that explains a lot. Like i suggest to most people, if it's not ideal she's takin the ferry.

Yeah that's no problem. So far we've got my buddies 24ft Yamaha, my 19ft scarab, a couple of jet skis and a 37ft cobalt. I'm sure the cobalt is gonna walk off and leave everyone. But it is what it is.

I will keep up with the Cobalt

We were going to return to Exuma this coming year again but I think the plan has changed and @Andy S and I will be doing Bimini the first or Second Week of July instead we will keep everyone posted if we on our dates if anyone wants to join us again.

they are supposed to be at the Ft Lauderdale boat show this coming weekend showing off their new design plan for the resort. @Andy S @veedubtek @1948Isaac and I will be at the boat show this weekend so hopefully we can report back what we find out. @Andy S might be a good shot for us to talk to the owners about a discount for our group.

Make sure they understand we go in several seperate crossings. Would hate for one group to get a discount and another to not.
