Does anyone have advice on ways to assist a mobility impaired person to board/unboard an AR 190 safely? This person is in their late 60s and can generally walk short distances without assistance, but has moderate difficulty climbing stairs around the house. I’ve not been able to think of a way to get them on and off the boat safely (on the dock or on land).

Sounds to me like you need to wheelchair them down to the dock and let them step into the boat that way.

How about before you put boat in water? Steadier on land. Help them get in with step stool or something!

That's all I got.

Good luck...

Any other info you can tell us about your situation? We can give you tons of ideas, but you can get better feedback if you can describe your situation for us, and what's typical for launching. Public launch, private pier, level of the pier in relation to the boat, etc etc.

For instance, my pier is level with the swim deck. My advice, to have a helping hand on the dock and on the boat, helping guide them onto the swim platform, sitting on the back of the boat and swinging over the back seat into the cockpit, will do you absolutely no good if you never will experience this situation. These boats can be supremely easy to get on, or difficult without multiple people to help - all depend on your situation.

Open water pier, sheltered? Sounds like climbing the ladder at all is completely out, if stairs at home are moderately difficult. The ladder will require some overall strength, and sufficient arm strength at that, to be able to utilize the ladder. Pier-based entry seems the best option...
