My wife bought me the Lowarence Elite 5 Chirp as a present, it arrived this week. Decided to start the installation this afternoon with my brother in-law. I'm posting the step by step pics. The instalation should not take you more then 3 hours and a 6 pack of beer, but I took my time to measure and position the template. I went with a flush mount, as there is enough space on the FSH to install a GPS in the center console. As for the transducer, after reading thru many forums for jetboat and flat boats and different ways of mounting, I went with a shoot thru hull installation. I will post reviews on how effective is this type of transducer mount in the future once I tested in the water.
Enjoy:

After centering the template, used painter tape behind and in top of the template.20151023_190233.jpg
Drilled the 4 holes as indicated on the template
20151023_191208.jpgalso drilled the screw holes.

I recommend using a vacuum cleaner for this process, as it is very messy.
Cut the hole as outlined in template.

20151023_190254.jpgrun your power and ground to the assesory switch, use heat shrink tube and electrical tape.

Before installing your screws (which by the way they are 4 metric M3.5 X 10mm screws) you can use some marine silicone to apply behind the GPS.

I use painter tape again to make less of a mess after applying the silicone

Now the shoot thru hull transducer
Remove the bucket locker to access the area in front of the speed sensor

Good write up and nice photos which are always useful. I mounted my transducer in the exact same position as you and I had no issues at all, you only loose water temp accuracy, which is no big deal.

Nice write up and clean looking install. The only thing I might have done differently is to mount the Screen closer to the helm in that big open panel so that IF you decided to add something in the future you would have space to do so. For example a fume or bilge alarm, marine radio, or any other electronics...

EXCELLENT Wite-up. thanks for making his a must see for FSH owners !

And by the way .............. wonderful boat, especially for your location.

Since I was a pre-teen and I went off to Atlanta to attend college, I lived (Parents passed, sister and brother-in-law still live in and LOVE Naples) in Naples.

Many Best Wishes for being able to enjoy 1 of the best boating areas in all of the U.S.A.

Hey nice write up! I just got a fsh deluxe and was wondering how you fished the cable up to the display unit. I will be mounting mine on the transom but figure the hole would come in throu the same spot. Any help would be appreciated.

@Thomas J. , great question....and if you use the @ symbol and someone's name, you nearly guarantee that they will get a notification that you've asked them a specific question..... like @Danielmailin (Once you start typing someone's name after 3 characters it will give you a drop down of names)

Sure, if you are asking how did a fish the transducer cable, once you remove the bucket locker, you will have access to feed the transducer cable to the engine bay and then follow the factory wire harness, you will find the holes to run the wire.
Then remove the fuel tank access cover and keep feeding it to the bottom of center console, if you have someone else helping you to feed and catch the wire it is very easy. Once you are done running the wire, use tie raps to tie the wire to the factory harness.20151023_171053.jpg 20151031_183854.jpg 20151023_210701.jpg

If you are asking how to wire power to the GPS, its very simple, tap into the power and ground from one of the 2 extra assesory rocker switches which are fused and have a breaker.20151023_190244.jpg
