Is this even legal

That rear towed trailer has got to be joke for the pic!

Length varies from state to state, but IIRC, federal motor carrier law is 80' maximum unless overweight/length/width w/a permit. If he is able to get a permit, part of the requirement is to file your route with the DOT, so my guess is that he somehow has access to permitting, perhaps he runs a transfer terminal or some other such need, tied to trucking.

This information has all been free, and taken both from my limited memory and rear end, so the value to the end user is proportionate to the value they see in all of those sources.

Just because you can does not mean you should.

That would definitely be a no go in IL, the height alone would require an oversized load marking and probably a pilot escort. Not to mention that doubles with a bumper pull is a no no.

That's just nuts! Yep, in Texas max length for tandem trailering is 65' and the first trailer has to be a gooseneck/fifth wheel trailer. The length is measured front the truck to the rear of the last trailer. I see it done a good bit and no you don't back up! Most of the time the second trailer is a simple fishing boat or a utility trailer with 4wheelers or a side by side. I, at one time, wanted to do that with our toys. Then I got the measuring tape out and came back to reality. Our Yamaha on the trailer is 25', our 5th wheel camper is 36', that's 61' already. Add 17' for the truck and that's 78'! I'd not only be over legal length by 13' I'd also be over the legal towing weight for the truck. My truck would certainly be able to move it and stop it, but not legally. Besides all that, I'd be so stressed out it wouldn't be fun to go anywhere.

I want to see the photo of the first low bridge he meets! Thats gonna cost him!

Assuming this is real, ya. Would be pretty funny. 11foot8.com has always been good for some laughs along these lines.

The toad behind the truck doesn't pivot. Its attached like an extension of the frame. So the first trailer is still a 5th wheel. Second trailer is bumper pull. That would be legal. The length may get him in trouble. Height could be optical in the picture.

So a number of guys in my SXS group have ramps in their bed like this to haul up to a 4 seat SXS on these big dooley trucks. But the SXS is self propelled. So Winches and tongue dollies come into play to pull that boat up onto the ramp system. That's one question out of my head.

The second is the outboard on that boat. It looks like a 20ft skeeter (I could be wrong) many times powered by a 150-225hp outboard. You physically cannot mount an outboard of that size with your buddies and an impact wrench! You need a forklift, or an overhead hoist to lower the outboard down to a position where it can be bolted to the transom.

As stated in the description, this is not an every-weekend trip for these folks. This is a seasonal move. But wow, this is the point when a spouse learns that towing the boat in another truck to the winter home is required.

The motor is still on the boat, you can see the top of the engine cover.

At first I was going to say no way there was room. But when I zoomed in on the other photos, you could see the evinrude cover and keel down below. That's freakin nuts!!

Who knows what’s in the cargo trailer. But I’d think a double decker boat trailer behind the fifth wheel and no dolly/toad would be a little easier and a whole lot less redneck. Would still have nearly as much space for shit. Especially if he’s just hauling ATVs or similar in the cargo trailer.

He is prob one if the guys that hauls other people stuff for a living like @Betik does only with a Prius

I use it for single jetski trialer + the ski. It was only once that I have to tow 2 trailers with it. And I got like 20mpg. On a 9 gallon tank that is a lot of stops. The other funny thing about Prius is the Miles to Empty does not take into account previous history. It only tell that the factory says that the prius should get. So I would fill up and it will something like Range 530 miles. And then 150 later the fuel light is ON and I am telling running on fumes at 2 am on West Georgia is not fun.

I'd want to see a video of him launching the boat at the ramp. I picture the driver with a snorkel and googles on while backing down the ramp!

Here is how it's done. I would never trust it, but, they customize these loaders based on boat weight and length.

Not sure it's legal, but the pic is misleading, no way a Ford can handle that much weight! ;-) I doubt the 88 feet is legal though....no matter what is pulling / hauling it all

that will do wonders for the center of gravity. It sure makes a very stable towing platform ( at 5 mph)
