JetBoaters.net Bimini Fling July 10th to 15th 2017

@Skroggy66, you said you are arriving on the 8th. Are you planning to arrive by boat or with your truck and trailer on the 8th? They charge per axle for trailer parking.

I thought we were dropping off at a marina to the north and boating to the hotel ? I guess that was my plan.

Got my slip reservation back already too. These people are on the ball. Bring on JULY

That is the plan. In the past some of us have taken our trucks and trailers to Bahia Mar the night before launching or in 2015 lots of us did to watch the fireworks. It can be done but in my opionion it is better to stay near the highway than to venture to Bahia Mar with a truck and trailer.

My family was discussing arriving at Bahia Mar on Saturday but so far our opinion is that we do not want to leave our groceries in the boat for an extra day.

I am going to UBER/Lyft on Sunday to the grocery store to get my supplies then fill the boat. That is my plan anyway. I was hoping to sit around on Saturday night and talk to some of you that have gone before on what to take. Just me and my wife so we won't need a ton of food. And she will want to be wined and dined a few nights. lol

Most of us will arrive on Sunday. There may be a few to hang out with on Saturday night.

Bahia Mar is a nice facility with a great location. It would be a great place for a vacation if you were not headed to the absolute paradise of Bimini.

Taking food for four for 10 nights my family loads the food straight from the grocery carts to the boat.

You will have an equipped kitchen and a normal sized refridgeratior / freezer in your condo so I suggest taking the kinds of breakfast and dinner food you would normally prepare at home along with lunch options that you would eat on the boat.

Just sneak some extra food into @Bruce fridge!
If my kids cooperate and all goes well with traveling i will get there saturday night. This is to allow for an early departure if needed. Or for extra kid stops.

@Bruce - We are looking at arriving at Bahia Mar Saturday...wanted to have an extra day for travel should we experience any issues towing down from NC. Bringing down 2 cars. Guess we will need to leave both vehicles at Harbortowne. Assuming that's $30/day. Coconuts Bar and Grill is a 6min walk from the hotel. Great marina view restaurant....always packed...and The Elbo Room bar off Las Olas Blvd is just a short walk further.

WALK ??

Why walk when you can take the boat to a bar ?

What we do is stop in Fort Pierce the night before we arrive in Fort Lauderdale. That has us about 2 hours away providing plenty of time to get groceries and supplies before launching the boat and checking into Bahia Mar in the afternoon.

HarborTowne has car parking near the truck and trailer parking. I am not sure what they charge or if it my be limited to those that have slips.

depends on how inebriated we plan on getting! Boating over would be cool but I not sure how many spots would be available.

OK....did I miss the info on slip rentals at the hotel?

I assume the plan is something like:
  1. Arrive in Ft. Lauderdale Sunday park boat and tow vehicle at hotel (fee?)
  2. Get groceries at a nearby store and load into boat
  3. Late afternoon, drive boat to ramp and launch/park tow vehicle and trailer (pay for parking at that lot that day)
  4. Drive boat to the hotel and park in a slip (hotel slip or what...I'm missing this part)
  5. Monday morning, weather/wind permitting - head to bimini
  6. Stay in Bimini til Sat morning
  7. Take boat back to US-go through customs
  8. Go to ramp, load boat on trailer and head home.

Go directly to Harbortown.
Unload boat.
Park truck and trailer.
Take boat to Bahia Mar marina.

Get supplies prior to boat launch.

Bahia Mar booking directions are in post #1216. All booking directions (Bahia Mar and Bimini Sands) are in post #2.

@tim h's corrections are correct.

Much of this is covered in the Approximate Agenda

Whats really depressing is i filled out that form and emailed it! Lol. I need a vacation! 4 day weekend next weekend for St Patrick's day.....sort of a vacation from one job to help my brother with O'Toole's restaurant party! If you are near Brandon FL....come by!

I think I've met your brother. He owns the T-shirt shop too, over in Oldsmar, right?

That is him. Our T-shirts are printed in that shop.
