Thanks.
I didn't have any other method to keep the hub from spinning. This escape is front wheel drive only, I had both front wheels in the air, and it has an open front differential. I tried jamming some things in the other wheel, but just made a mess. Came up with the pickle fork and jackstand idea after standing there and staring at it for a few minutes.
Next time, breaMom's '07 Escape had some brake issues. aBS ring was broken in the end of the CV shaft. Have to replace the entire shaft because the ring is press fit in place. After running to AutoZone for a 32mm socket, I had to improvise this madness to get enough torque on the axle nut to get it off....
Whole time I'm singing in my head "Time to do some sketchy shit doo-Da; Hope I get away with it doo-Da"

Went ahead and did pads and rotors while I was in there......they were definitely close to failure.

Also.....effe you Ford and whichever of your engineers decided that this little wire clamp thing is the appropriate way to hold the caliper in place. Took 30min/each to fight these stupid things back into place.

Finished the brakes and went back in the house to find the toddler "helping" with Christmas cookies.......yea, he was a mess.

My jack handle is definitely my breaker bar too, although I’ve snapped the drive right off a craftsman 1/2” ratchet doing that and I havent tried again since.
I’ve never seen the pickle fork jackstand trick. That’s pretty clever!
All wrapped and ready for distribution.Do you give these away or have a big family gathering??? Our willpower is too shitty to have too much good stuff like that around!!!
No pics yet but got woke up at 2am by a cow bawling non-stop(not normal unless somethings up). Got dressed and went to check only to find that we finally had the last calf of the season earlier in the evening. He had somehow made his way outside of the fence and was hanging out in the shed and couldn't figure out how to get back to the cow. I put him back with the herd and all was quiet after that but getting back to sleep was the next issue.Nothing like DIY, grow your own steak.
Ummmm, nope.My guess...you should be installing the holiday lights on the outside of the cement truck drum. It should look like this.

Inside of a giant vacuum truck?
This stiffened up some surface water overnight. Coldest temps. this Winter. Well it did just start.

Dammmm... hope it warms up a bit before we head up your way in two days. I've been really looking forward to ski Jay Peak again, after twenty some years! lolThis stiffened up some surface water overnight. Coldest temps. this Winter. Well it did just start.
