Taking the heated tractor out into the cold woods. 15 deg F this morning.

Saw this yesterday and did swear…
Damage from the 70mph winds that blew through my sugarbush a few weeks ago. Took out a bunch of 100yo sugar maples in a domino effect. You can see a series of root balls.

POOP! Get’er done !

Shot some short-eared owls starting to hunt during golden hour last night. Such a cool looking bird. Also, notice the complete lack of snow. We're now a full 48" below our average YTD accumulation, lowest year since they started tracking it. Our last four years are all in the top ten lowest on record.

I love those 'evening sunlight' shots.

We had our first storm with strong winds since moving here a couple years ago. My BBQ canopy got blown into the neighbors yard and it looked like the car / Waverunner canopy was going next. Thankfully all survived.

Just as I was about to sit down and take Sunday afternoon off I got this text from my bother. Ended up buying and installing a toilet in our Mom’s house a few hours later.

Edit: the first one we picked out was a basic model for $100, the basket of golf ball claim convinced us to spend $250.

Since we don’t have the boat anymore, I decided to join the CG Auxiliary. I still want to be part of the local boating community, and also give back by volunteering my time.

We did the same a few years ago Flotilla 15-11, its been fun. Also allow use of the boat to PA Water Rescue Station #72 in emergencies. Nice thing is with the rivers, our Yamaha can go where a bunch of their props cant.

I have a similar Kohler toilet and in fact my kid can still clog it. LOL! I will say it takes MUCH more work to do so than our older builder grade toilets.

Did a repair on one of my 1” mainlines today that I found on the ground for nearly its entire 300’ run. Found a failed high tensile “Gripple” at a splice in the wire. I don’t usually use these for this reason, but it is what the installers used. I have been tying high tensile for 30+ years and never had a splice fail. Just need to trim the bitter ends.

I got it back up and repiched the line. Tapped all the drops/trees on that line.
Beautiful day in the woods. Clear skies.

You can see the iced over Mallets Bay, inner and outer, lower left to right. If you look closer, you will see a change in color, open water on the broad lake side of the Colchester RR causeway aka Bike path.
