Speedling in hospital.....

@Speedling we are so happy to hear you are up and moving around. Hang in there and know you have a lot of people sending positive vibes your way!

Prayers coming your way for a complete recovery!!!

I am late learning this, too! Wow, you take a day with the family and miss out on all sorts of things here.

@Speedling , thoughts and prayers are with you, my friend. Glad things are on the right track. Pulling for you.

@Speedling Sounds really good, man, just listen to those docs and don't even think about lifting anything yet!!!! It will happen, but for now just sit tight and do exactly as they say, your brain will need to heal and that is a process.

You must rest, a lot, for speedy recovery. In the words of Yoda:

"PATIENCE MUST YOU HAVE my young padovan".

speedy recovery my man best wishes and prayers!

I'm a late comer to this post. As with others, I was hoping for an April fools punch line.
I hate that these things happen, especially to good people like you @Speedling.
And so the healing process begins... that's your full-time job now, and I'm sure that you'll come out on top.

Stay positive and best wishes for a full recovery. Just take everything slow and get better day by day.

They say i am very strong. My coordination isn't good on left eye. Mri came back showingan MRI showed no clot, and shows no tear in the Carotid that the other hospital had thought they saw. Also, no brain bleed or other internal bleeding. A CT scan was done to further examine these issues. (No results yet). However, the MRI showed clearly that the stroke was larger than expected given the abilities Lee still has. He will be in the hospital for a week or so with Therapy. Concern is that he retains his abilities and the brain does not swell too much.

Lee and Susan, thank you for the update. You have 6,000+ boating friends praying for you and the kids. Some are close, some are far away but please let us know if we can help.

Mrs Speedling, please see Lee's private conversation.

brain does not swell too much

Was there some bleeding into the brain or this is edema due to the ischemia?
Being that your TIA was recognized and treated early you have a much better chance of coming out of this with very limited, to no, neurological deficits!! That's great news!

The bad news is that now Mrs Susan is going to make you eat more salads and cut out all of your fried chicken :(

@Speedling, I assume you have read @ArmyChief's story? To give you a little context, he had a heart attack during military training. His heart stopped but he was revived and recently celebrated the 1st anniversary of his death / new life with a clean bill of health. You can do this!

Thoughts and Prayers for full recovery.

A super mega :bummer dude: for you buddy. All the hopes and prayers are with you, you got this!

This will teach me to be off the forum for a couple of days...Hope the recovery continues at a speedling pace @Speedling. This forum greatly depends on your sage advice. Now, for rehab I recommend copies amounts of boating this summer. Good thoughts to make that happen.

Prayers sent for a quick recovery @Speedling.
