Wonderful news. Greater vaccine efficacy is expected in younger and healthier immune systems but it is wonderful to see that confirmed especially when combined with strong data confirming safety.
So many biased replies I'd like to make to biased members like this....but I'll refrain.
But please do imagine what I'm thinking....be really creative. We get paid nothing.... we do this for the love of all our members (regardless of affiliation)...and you get to say whatever you like (within a broad set of rules). So yeah....imagine away...
Welcome back. Since you decided to reveal why you ended up being only the 2nd person ever auto banned due to the number of warning you received, hopefully you will refrain from partisan politics. Its not like we didn't explicitly warn you not to use that pejorative multiple times.
And no, we would have given the same warning for any partisan political reference, and in fact have done that. The difference is the other people stopped.
You seem desperately intent on being political. Which is a shame as moderating this thread is a thankless pile of dung, where we simply get called out as biased no matter what we do.
So do us a favor, I beg you, please avoid political references entirely. No backhanded attempts. No round about snipes. Nothing. Its really not hard.
I believe you were the third. There is a small group of members who seem unable to abide by Our Code of Conduct in this thread. I hope that you will be able to.

Interesting CDC charts showing rates of cases detected and deaths among various vaccination statuses during the delta wave. In summary vaccination provided significant protection against illness and death.
Delta was a highly contagious SARS-CoV-2 virus strain that was first identified in India, and also circulated in the United States and other countries. The vaccines have proven to be highly effective against Delta, but anyone who is unvaccinated is at risk for infection by the variant.

Not trying to piss on your contribution of data that is interesting, but don't you think statements like "In September unvaccinated persons had a 14X risk of dying" is misleading at best and the spread of misinformation at worse. You can't clump data from 18-80+ and make a statement about all unvaccinated persons in general. You can't take a 18 and 80 yr old and insinuate that they are both at 14X risk of dying. Statements like that are what cause people to question good data as bias and/or untruthful. In my opinion its bad interpretations like these (in some cases intentional and some cases not) that have led to the confusing and broad one size fits all solutions that in some cases have done more harm than good. The next thing some well intentioned (or not) person is going to berate me for my choice not to vaccinate my kids is that they are now 14X risk of dying because the CDC has data that says so.
@MidnightRider, reading your comment I do not see how those sentences apply to the quoted CDC charts which are a small fraction of the data provided by CDC. Especially since one chart breaks out the data by age groups.
As for vaccinating kids the best evidence is that the risk from vaccination is far lower than that of not vaccinating. Beyond that there are practical benefits such as my vaccinated kids not needing to test after exposure to attend school. Of course practical benefits vary by area.

I get your point but the chart that includes the 14x has the age ranges right there.
Averages are used to describe everything in the world. They aren’t always the most representative measure, but that’s on the end user to have a grasp of what goes into an average. How far do we need to dumb things down because the average person doesn’t want to pay attention in 7th grade math?
It would be more dishonest to start picking and choosing what you include and exclude in that number vs just including everyone.
I posted an article that was posted in the American Heart Association website. I think your question should be addressed to them.
Should be easy to get there email address and send then an email with your question. please post their reply here when you receive it.
