I've been scouring this forum as I shopped for my New previously owned Jet Boat, and it was sooo helpful. I've logged dozens of hours reading up on everything I even thought might be an issue. The good news is I found a 2008 212X and it was delivered to my driveway today, the Friday of Memorial Day weekend! The bad news is that I'm stuck here in Alaska for 3 more weeks until I retire from the USCG. So I'm having my wife send me pictures daily just to keep an eye on her! LOL. I'm looking forward to being a part of such a great group of boaters.
How's it going? Have you taken her out yet? Any issues? I'm in the same area as you. Let us know if you need anything.

I've taken it out a few times and have had my fair share of issues, "Impeller housing and forgotten drain plug". All I have to say is that Tow boat US is worth every penny! The best part of all is that my wife is enjoying it so much she wants to go look at new boats. :winkingthumbsup"

Good for you! Will you stay with a jetboat? What are you thinking?

I'm Absolutely staying with the Yamaha jet boats I love it. The only question is, will the sticker shock chase her out of the dealership. She's not happy with me constantly tinkering with the boat, she thinks I spend more time with the boat than with her.

LOL Is your wife related to mine? Mine's been at the shop for 3 weeks; having major withdrawals. She is too. Beautiful thing.

Are you thinking new? Maybe moving to a 24'? There's always a deal to be found. Good luck!

I'd Love to get a new one, I'd probably stay with the 21 footer just because it fits in the driveway and we can still get both cars in comfortably. If I went with the 24 I would probably have to find storage. I'm not in a rush to get a new boat but I'm open to the idea. My wife is the big money earner now that I'm going back to school so she has the say on what we can and can't buy. LOL!

Check the Chicago Craigslist. I recently saw a AR210 at a reasonable price.
I know the exact listing you are talking about - sadly they have not responded to emails.

Hello all, I just bought a used (new to me) jet boat about a month ago, and have been reading a few threads on here since then. It's been fun, and it's always good to have a group of people with a common interest to share knowledge and experiences.

EDIT...Chester said...
I'm new to the Jetboat World. I've always owned Outboards so it's great to see the insight all of you have. I just purchased a 2019 212X here in Colorado and immediately drove it up to my lake cabin in MN where it will stay. Our boating season is short in MN so I only got to play on it for the Labor Day weekend before having to winterize which is a process I'll have to familiarize myself with due to the vast differences. Within 2 days I sucked up 2 ski ropes and managed to catch pebbles in my "reverse covers" which ultimately locked the boat in Reverse only. I wasn't sure how rough to get with the equipment and my lack of knowledge showed. Overall I'm happy with the boat and looking forward to a great boating season next year. I have a lot to learn and I hope to do that within this community. I'm not a social media guy; therefore, I simply replied to this post instead of starting a new thread.

Were you in very shallow water? I’m new to my boat as well and I’ve not had an issue with rocks yet, but it looks like you’ve got to grab the actual plastic reverse buckets over the jets to wiggle them lose. The search function is very helpful on here, seems like everything imaginable has happened to someone on here by now.
Welcome!

Welcome, @MNJets ! Go tool around the FAQ (link at the top). Most of the popular stuff is there, including on oil changes and plug changes and winterizing and such. And now that you have sucked up a ski rope, you qualify for a trophy on here! Woot! If we can help with anything, start a new thread in the General section and let us know.

Welcome!

I was at the public access in 36" to 42" of water. I must have jammed it in reverse a bit too much as I didn't like how to boat was going up on the trailer. Instead I should have simply idled it. The higher speed in reverse must have really acted like a vacuum.

How can I increase the amount of posts displayed when I open up a thread? Other forums I am on (technical, auto, etc) allow this property to be configured in your profile (for instance 20, 50, 100 posts). Is that configurable on this forum?

Thanks in advance.

This is not configurable....we have it set to 25 or 30 (dont recall which) because it improves the performance of the site not to load too many. But since we just added some RAM perhaps we can increase the number some? @Bruce ?

New here, but not new to jet boats, have been driving them and teaching how to drive them for 20+ years, military and civilian.
Just ordered a Scarab 255 OID. I should have it mid Aug.
A buddy of mine has a 2019 255 and I fell in love.
Had to cancle the order today, "COVID" frustrating!!!!!!

Thanks for having me.
