@tim h I would rather use an "octomask" https://octomask.com that comes with a GoPro mount compared to what US Divers offers for a product. Besides snorkels as those don't really matter to me, besides just a simple snorkel is the best IMHO. To many dive shops just sell the fancy snorkels because they make more money from them and usually cause more issues for people. For a mask though I only would ever recommend to anyone to buy a high quality name brand mask if for any kind of open water use, and I prefer a black rubber seal as it seems to work better and last longer. I've converted my whole family from up North whole only snorkel on vacation to buy a high quality mask after letting them use mine.

FYI: To anyone if you buy a glass mask make sure you clean the inside multiple times with just a regular colgate/crest or whatever toothpaste, nothing with anything added like breath fresheners or anything course. You put a pea size amount on the mask on each side and rub it in with your finger for the length of you TV show of choice till a commercial; than rinse with hot water and do it again till next commercial. You will hear it make a squeaky clean sound when it is done. This gets all the production residue off the lens and it will prevent fogging with a little baby shampoo in the lens prior to diving. No need for fancy defog solutions! I keep a little sprayer of baby shampoo and water on my boat for the reason. Just spray it in and rinse it out real lightly, just pick up some water and swirl, dump and put your mask on with no pesky fog! Repeat the baby shampoo each time you enter the water.

Sorry if it comes off as a tangent or what not, I know you are sharing a deal, just trying to give some info I have on a subject I love.

Just spit in it!! :hungry::yuck::watching:
I agree. Some live perfectly happy lives without having the most expensive equipment and spit works well for preventing fogging.

Spit works and cheap stuff works as well. I don't have the most expensive equipment either for sure. I would rather pay a few more dollars for a better product that will last longer though. I have witnessed US divers masks break in 10 feet of water and cause a panic situation. I was just giving my .02 cents that's all.

@2nazt Admit it. You just love the smell of baby shampoo.

I asked them to call me if a 2 bedroom came available....guess they aren't terribly good with the phone, or don't want us moving units! Perhaps I'll call them without telling them I have a reservation first!

I believe that a 2 bedroom with loft marina view is available by the pool. Personally I would stick with the amazing ocean view in building 21 and perhaps ask your guests to get a one bed.

Nat Geo Wild has a great show called Wild Bahamas: Enchanted Seas that discusses a lot of Bahama's wildlife below and above the water. I highly recommend watching it to anyone going to Bimini. The next airing is the morning of Wednesday May 24th.

Did read somewhere that there would be some type of restaurant or snack bar serving food near the infinity pool?
If so will they have us a menu to view to get some idea of what all they will be serving and cost

I have asked the operator for a copy of the menu in the past. Will renew the request.

Their Instagram indicates that the snack bar and restaurant are open. No links to a menu though.

This was posted on LilDippers Bar & Grill's Facebook page. Bimini Sands is fully booked for the next two weekends so they should be well broken in before we arrive.

Neil Watson and some of the residents of South Bimini have created Sugar Reef, a new artificial reef in 85' of water. This will be a fun dive for those that are interested. I have coordinates and it will be on the Bimini Map that we will hand out at the Captains Meeting.

85' of depth is not for amateurs and will require three to times that length of anchor rope so you may want to hire Neil for this one.

There is more info and pictures at this link

No mooring buoys?
Not that I am aware of. I suspect that it will stay that way. They have invested into the ships, towing, sinking, etc. I happen to have 300' of anchor rope but most do not.

Sooooo can I hook on to your boat or your anchor line (please) I will be bringing a twist anchor which is great for shallow anchoring but does absolutely no good in deep water......I'm fairly self sufficient but to bring 3 anchors is a waste of space on a ski that has minimal storage to begin with
Sometimes I feel like a remora on a shark but I will always return the favor with a tow or a passenger if needed ;)
