i think to some degree we are all guilty. I have noticed people seek out information that will support individual viewpoints regardless of the validity of such information or source. You get enough of that even the truth becomes a fabricated reality. On LinkedIn for example, people have hijacked the forum with personal opinions and ideas about covid, politics and current events of the day not appropriate on a professional networking site. What concerns me is the antagonist tone of statements made. Which leaves no room for exchanging ideas on an intellectual level. I question Is this an extension of foreign influence into the American psyche?

Most US geneticists have concluded it looks to be a natural variation. If she was working on the team that created it, this might be more interesting - but looks like she wasn't. Interesting, but I am simply not qualified to say if what they say holds water or not. Will be interesting to see what experts say about it. This is an old article...but seems many have already studied many of the claims made in that article. So we'll need experts at CDC etc to weigh in on this.

FYI, this is really elaborate fake news. The 'Rule of Law Society', which is the authors' affiliation, is a Steve Bannon outfit. Probably just another one of the ways he launders money.

The authors of this latest study (Yan, Li-Meng; Kang, Shu; Guan, Jie; Hu, Shanchang) specifically target earlier studies that concluded it was not man made. It's a long read, but they laid out, with great detail, all of their findings. It is now in the open for other scientists to explore, and confirm or refute. This is a good thing.

Rather than resorting to guilt by association and character assassinations - we should be celebrating the sharing of this sort of research.
