Hi all. My name is Chad and got into boating last year after I purchased a Yamaha 195s last year. With two littles at home, I love it, especially not having to worry about an exposed prop.

I live in Utah so we have access to lots of high mountain reservoirs (5500-6500 ft) and of course Lake Powell (around 3800ft).

One thing these higher elevations is the horrible cavitation on the stock prop. I just got the Solas Concord dual prop and hope to have it installed in the next few days before our next Lake Powell trip (provided I can get the driveshaft spline holder tool in time). Will post a little how-to and results summary when I can.

Welcome!

Welcome to the Utah jet family. All my boating is above 4,000'. My dealer didn't even give me a choice, he switched out the props before delivery. I ended up a few mph slower than most speeds posted here due to the prop change. I lose a couple more at Bear Lake (6,000') and a couple more at Strawberry (7,600').

I hit Strawberry for the first time a few weeks ago and that was the moment I decided on getting a different impeller. I'll never be below 4000ish feet, so I'm hoping it will help.

What dealer did you work with?

I go through Dick's in Clearfield. They are great and were the only game in town for a few years for Yamaha boats. There's a new place in Draper that I haven't worked with.
