Guest, we are pleased to announce that Hydrophase Ridesteady is offering an extra $100 off for JETBOATERS.NET members on any Ridesteady for Yamaha Speed Control system purchased through March 7th, 2025. Ridesteady is a speed control system (“cruise control”) that uses GPS satellites or engine RPM to keep your boat at the set speed you choose. On twin engine boats, it will also automatically synchronize your engines.
no i prob wont, they will prob continue to fuck with me lol. I wonder how squeaky of a wheel i need to be to get some towels and koozies and maybe a few cups.
do you want to know how many screws i had to tighten after i cross to Bimini? its just part of the game, every dirt bike i buy i disassemble the first day to lube and lock tight every thing
Its concerning how crappy they are producing. I saw the other day that a brand new 252 FSH didn't have the proper rails up front. They where crappy stainless steel tubes rather than the thick handles that went along with the lines of the boat. I'm scared what I am going to experience when my 2022 252sd gets here.

cancel the order if you are concern, i mean there is other choices out there, not trying to be an ass but if you aren't happy with what you are seeing you should go i a different direction

Welcome to toys ownership, things will break things will get loose, my conex became loose on our way to Bahamas, took it apart put threadlock and put it back togheter
I have a 255xe and I've already had the faceplate to my sub come lose. Also the amp that powers the tower speakers and sound bar has no signal output to channels 3 and 4 which means my sound bar plays no music! i only have 10 hours on it. cant wait to see what else happens.
Last weekend, on my sliding seats, 3/4 bolts came completely out (that hold in the cushion/storage compartment... What a pain it was to get those back in.

mine were missing a few prior to even getting the boat. Then the port side only had 1 in it after the dealer "fixed" things on my list and only put one back in the seat. Seat was ready to fly off.

Did you guys get all of your 2021 Boat problems corrected. I am considering upgrading but I am not sure if I should avoid the first year of the new model, look to a 2019 242X, or maybe the 2022 255X? Could use some advice.

Reading threads like this will make a person never want to buy a Yamaha. In my eyes 99% of the things in this thread would be trivial if you were buying a used boat. You would accept it as what comes with a used boat. If buying new it would be very aggravating, and I get it.
So just set your expectations ahead of time and you will be fine. The first owner took the hit to the pocketbook and ego. If you know how to pop a speaker out and tighten up a nut on the rub rail, or re-plumb a drain line, those are non issues.

You're well past the point where this will be an issue to concern yourself with before purchasing. At this point, if you find either of those 2 boats NEW new, you've found a unicorn, and you should buy either one even IF you have to do all of the tightening/fixing of things yourself. They've addressed some things, and others are still a problem. If they're in the "still a problem" category, there's a good chance there's a thread around here with a fix, solution, or method to inspect and tackle it, and outside of anything to do with the motors themselves or the impellers, none of the issues are outside the skillset of even a non-tool-owning person - just buy the tool and get after it. Some things are still acceptable to Yamaha, like the anchor locker drains, and it's clear they're not gonna do anything metal, and if it's an issue on your boat, the dealership is going to replace it for free with another plastic fitting, so it's a great chance to start making the boat "yours", and fixing things to the quality level you're going to set for yourself. There's plenty of crappy caulk jobs on boats costing far more than ours, because some jabroni just wanted a quick fix. Anything that moves or flexes is eventually gonna have issues, and learning some basic replacement skills will suit you well in life, not just in boat ownership. I'm willing to bet your 2013 had some issue or issues, or at least someone in this world had a 2013 with issues, so take that upgrade plunge and enjoy whatever boat you find that has you reaching for your wallet.
Most people don’t get on forums like this to talk about how great their boat is, it’s usually to find out how to fix a problem, how to perform maintenance, share their upgrades & modifications, commiserate with others about things or blame the manufacturer(s) for things that were not done properly at the factory, bad design, or my personal favorite things that they did to the boat that are some how the manufacturers’ fault.
Keep in mind this was during a time, 2021, when Yamaha was struggling to keep their work force in place since many were getting paid to sit at home, materials became in short supply because the companies who made them also weren’t working etc. Yamaha was struggling to deliver their product to stay in business like many other manufacturers, and demand was through the roof, not giving them a pass just telling it like it was.
I do not recall seeing any posts about bad engines, hull integrity issues or other major issues.. there was that problem with some of boats steering cables possibly coming loose at the helm but that was taken care of in a few weeks by Yamaha.
We’re there quality issues like those illustrated in this thread? Absolutely. Should you be concerned about buying a used boat because of the issues found on the boats that were brand new then? Nope, most if not all of those issues will have been sorted out by now.
I have a ‘21 - 210 FSH and my dealer did a good job going over all the pre-delivery checks. They had me look over and sign the pre-delivery report to better understand their thoroughness. I’ve only had one warranty claim and it was promptly handled. The two storage cabinets in front of the helm had cracked trim because of being over tightened during installation.
I have no complaints about Yammy quality!
