2018 Bimini June trip (June 24th - June 30th)

I would also pack a soft sided cooler that I can throw away for the squid or conch slop that I get to feed the sting rays and nurse sharks (my favorite thing to do over there)

I take a double walled stainless steel jar for squid. I freeze it in the condo at night. It will stay cold all day. The stainless cleans easily.

Walmart has stainless food jars for $8.

I have only once been able to buy a box of squid
over there
They are always sold out when I’ve gone
Last trip I made friends with some locals who basically gave me what they called conch slop, it’s what they don’t use when making conch salad and such. The rays don’t like it as much as the squid but they don’t turn it away either and it doesn’t cost $35 a box:cool:

I’m going to be finishing up my shopping today
Is it for food kind of like a thermos for soup?

Actually its my great grandfather justa coming to ‘merica !

Then I guess we need to hey some frozen shrimp state side
Interesting idea....some of these sales have 2 for 1s on bags of shrimp (2lb bags I think) for like $15....I wonder if they are treated in anything the rays would turn their nose up to?

I don't recall ever having a problem buying squid over there. Squid and ice most mornings, $12 for both? Wasn't crazy.

U can get the frozen squid somewhere on the island?

The grocery stores in Fort Lauderdale have frozen squid. Or you can get large boxes at the Lauderdale Marine fuel dock by the bridge in Fort Lauderdale.

Yes. Walmart has small 16 ounce versions for $8.

Shrimp were native to Bimini until Resort’s World destroyed their habitat. I have considered taking shrimp and assume they would double as ray food and bait.

Look how much the forecast has changed in 24 hours. The Wave forecast has reduced however the wind forecast has significantly increased.

So the real question is who is getting out on the boat today or is everyone packing lol. Today is my only day off before I leave in fact I will leave tomorrow night on a business trip and not return home till Thursday when I plan to leave. Trying to decide if I have time to get the boat out and still get it all packed and set up to go.

This is the last day my wife and I have off together before we leave. We r cleaning and packing... Not completely packing.. Just getting a handle on the puzzle. I have monday off and thursday off. Gonna try and sleep most of the afternoon on Thursday and leave around 3am on friday morning..
