2018 Bimini June trip (June 24th - June 30th)

Sounds like a Nassau rum run is cooking

I looked real hard over the past few months for a reason to do a Nassau run a cool concert or something that would be going on while there and would make it worth wild to do so just never found anything worth wasting two days to run there for.

About to button her up now she is all packed and ready to roll with the things that could be put in her now. Got the tower wrapped a well took about 10 minutes. Now to try and round up everything that is charging geesh Ipads, Gopro's, Garmin Inreach, Sat Phone, Vhf Radio's, handheld gimbal, Dji Phantom 3, back up hand held gps, and several other misc things its nuts.

Does anybody has a list of coordinates of the nice places to see while in Bimini?

They are posted in the prepping for Bimini thread in the gatherings section

Spent 10 hrs working on the boat today. What all did I do, you say? Installed an amp, amp panel and a sub, says I. Wife and middle daughter are VERY happy. Other two daughters couldnt care less.

New tires on the trailer today. My 13 year old oil extractor finally took a crap today. New one will be here Monday. Everything else is prepped and ready. GETTING EXCITED!

Some updates for you;

1. There is a spare mail boat so today’s boat fire should not be an issue (yay).

2. New management is taking over Bimini Sands July 1st. Our friends Helena and Gaylord will be leaving. Helena should be staying through the summer. The homeowners reservation staff will remain the same. (Unfortunately this is status quo).

3. The pool bar is closed (boo).

4. The cafe above the ship store, the ship store and the Thirsty Turtle are all open (yay).

5. WiFi internet will be spotty (as always).

6. There is public WiFi at the pool (yay).

7. Reports are that the insects are well controlled (awesome).

8. Fuel is stocked and extra fuel will be ready for you (yay).

9. I am starting to get jealous of your improving crossing forecast!

10. Bimini Sands just did a great job hosting 175 happy customers from the CrossingForACure.com so they should be ready for you.

11. There are 3 charcoal and 3 has grills at the pool. (Yay).

There is typically a wide band of seaweed about 5 to 10 miles off the Fort Lauderdale coast, thankfully there are gaps in the seaweed to navigate through assuming you can see them.
we had to stop a few time is 15to clear the grafes

One thing I forgot, Brad has added 3 charcoal and 3 gas grills at the pool. I would bring self lighting charcoal if you want to use the charcoal grills.

My friends crossed this morning.... trying not to pout so I’m headed out to run the river..... when the rain comes I will go home and pack my ski
The next best thing, right?:(

Make sure to check your Expiration date of your flares. My exprired April 2018. :(

Bought the coast guard approved distress light instead.

Flares are more fun.....

Your solution is more practical.

I keep the old ones in case I have an actual need or happen to forget other sources of fire.

It is also good to check the expiration on your fire extinguisher before the Coasties do.
