Commuted to work in the rain today, wow did the weather gods smile on us last week!

#12 went way too fast as they all do. We hope you enjoyed the more casual format this year. I met some great peeps who were attending for the first time and rekindled some cherished friendships. I never was on the water without seeing someone from our group, even on dawn patrol surf runs!

We had a great time this year!!! Busy playing catch up. Congrats to @BigAbe75 for winning the Cobra cat surf board from Transom Watersports! I Highly recommend this board. Very easy to ride and comfortable. Like @J-RAD said ( and we announced during the dinner) he has been gracious enough to offer a discount code to all Shelbyville participants. We very much appreciate his support.

Thanks to organizers of this event and to everyone that participated. We always enjoy hanging out with everyone and to any we didn't get to meet up with or our schedules didn't we always have next year.

We are so thankful to Gantlin Products for the generous gift donations, and are still in shock that we came away with the Cobra Cat and a sweet surf rope!!

I haven’t gotten ahold of our pics off the GoPro yet, but we did get out on the board Sat and Sun for a bit. We need more practice to up our skills some, but I can see how fun it will be as we improve.

Also, a huge thanks to the organizers, Yamaha and all the other sponsors for contributing time and resources to this event. Both time and resources are extremely valuable today and we appreciate the contributions of both!!

Friends & Family Gathering - 2019

What a great time it was at the 2019 Friends & Family Gathering! It was great (as usual) seeing all the familiar faces and getting to know some new ones. In speaking to all the new attendees, it was very obvious that this group of boaters are the most inviting, easy going group on water. Each mentioned how welcomed they felt and how they will be looking forward to next year. Way to go everyone!

Friends & Family Gathering - 2020

For 2020 the dates have already been decided. Wed July 29 - Sun August 2, 2020!

It's been 12 years that Jim (@JCampbell), Jeff (@007) and I (@OperationROL) have been leading the planning and execution of the event and in recent years, @MutherTucker has provided great support from Shelbyville. We all love providing a great environment and an atmosphere for attendees. Moreover, we are all very interested in the success of the event moving forward. Therefore, we will be working with @Yamagirl (wife of @Brian eilrich) to help her transition into the lead organizer role. She is very experienced in organizing teams and events and will excel in this role. She has already recruited a few people to head various committees. I am excited to see where this goes! Please help me welcome her and let's all help her be successful!

Our oldest just turned 8 this weekend, and is usually the reason for missing the event. Next year, we'll just have his party a few days early, and be on the water for the weekend after.

The weekend after Shelbyville is always the loneliest boating weekend of the year for me. To go from 30+ boats full of friends to just a few of us in a single 192 on the lake.
