Clean Out Port Day 3

No cutting!!

That's a bridge to be crossed when he can see both sides of that plastic piece that's causing problems.

If it's simply jammed in there, it might be able to be pushed into a position for removal, but if it's jammed in there, it's going to cause less damage to the cleanout port hose and lower fittings to carefully cut pieces out of the plastic ring until it can be destroyed inward toward the center of the ring to the point of removal.

It it were me and my boat, I would use the same or similar as the Youtube video posted. I don't think it is going to require much, probably just a little more than you can do by hand.

Or, lower the tongue all the way, tie it off to a rafter in the garage, then raise the tongue. If it picks the ass end off the trailer, it is good 'n stuck. :p

Maybe try to find an auto shop with a ceiling chain hoist, drop the hook in there and give it a gentle pull. You won't damage the port hole.

Explode upward from water pressure? Don't believe there is any water trapped. I have poured water in the port to rinse ant possible sand and I also put ice in both seemed to drain fine, ice after melting of course.

Not fro water pressure. If you try to remove by pulling up with Jack stand like t he video showed

I need results from this thread lol

Same, waiting to see how this turns out...

What happens first? Cleanout plug removal, or trolling motor dynamic test?

Day 5

At this point I need something, a broken handle, disassembly, or any progress. J/k.

Being patient and getting the details from the service technician would be prudent. Is there any way to take the black pipe/tubing housing out?
If you remove the clean out hatch, how is the big black tubing secured? If that could come out, the access greatly increases. I just had mine off last week and can't remember.

Removed handle and cable, metal tabs/dog ears are definitely not engaged.
I need results from this thread lol
Me too. Not going to get a chance to work on it until 4/5:00 EST. By days end I should be laughing or crying.

So just looks like a tight fit. Yank that bad boy right out of there. My 252 ports were pretty tight but never got stuck

Drama over! 2 X 4, rope, a little padding and a bit of leverage and it is out. No apparent damage to any parts. Yes I installed and removed it properly, piece of cake.

Wish I had done it it a few days ago but wanted to consider the options.

This forum did what it does best, it supports and advises it's fellow members to the best of their knowledge and abilities. My sincerest thanks and appreciation to everyone for their time, input and concern.

Great to hear! Did you just yank upward with the 2x4? You didn’t devise any twisting motion somehow, right?
glad it worked out with no damage, go and enjoy your boat now.

The members of of this community are the best and better than any Yamaha dealer hands down in my opinion! Best of all, they didn’t hang on to your boat and hold it hostage for weeks while trying to figure this out :winkingthumbsup"
