Help finding a Stereo replacement for 2017 242 S Eseries

My console beep with an Radio Comm Error every 5 minutes and I have to dismiss it on the console.

Was told that I need a new Radio Assembly on the swim deck.
The problem is that I ordered this part over 6months ago and have yet received it.

Is there alternative radio assembly that can be used for the OEM part F3F-U8190-01-00?

Can an after market radio be used? Any suggestions of brands?

You said you need a new stereo. I have no idea what the OEM part number actually is. I'm also not sure what stereo comes with the 2017. The 2018 has the Fusion RA70, see below.

My 2017 212X is a Polk. While it still works, I have been thinking of changing it but am worried about integrating it with the Connext interface. So any unit will work? What about the swim platform remote? I’m guessing that would have to be changed? Thx

@wschroeder42, I would move away from Polk if I were you. Not great quality.

Not 100% sure on 2017 Polk units. But with the 2018 Fusion unit, the stereo in the stern is the actual brain. The connext simply acts as a remote control via NMEA 2000

Someone posted a couple of weeks ago that greatlakesskipper had Polk PA4A replacements in stock. If you go with a different brand, your controls in the Connext screen will likely no longer function.

So say he gets the Fusion, and hooks it up via the NMEA cable to connext, it won't work?

Sorry brother, no idea. All's I've ever had is the Fusion. Works great.

I am not aware of anyone that has done this. (which is why I bought a backup PA4A a while ago, as I fully expect the knob on my swim control to die at some point)

I had a pa4a warranty replacement sent . They shipped the entire unit I did a bench check and hooked one of the remotes marc100 it was only $20.00. I had the ability to control most features but not all you could give it a try or You can get the prc200bc that may give you all the features and hopefully silence the comm error and replace the knob remote.
