Took my boat an hour down to Clear Lake for service on Monday and promptly had to return to retrieve it before service was done as the marina was ordered to clear any boats that could leave.

We expect to see Laura in a few hours. I'm in Houston so looking at lots of rain and storm surge. Winds shouldn't be as severe (50 knots max likely) as they are near Lake Charles. Boat is secure under my carport so as long as the house stays it'll be fine.

How's everyone else doing?

@brian86992 ......fingers crossed! :cool:

If you live there, please evacuate. Laura is now a CAT 4 and is nothing to play with. They're talking a 20 ft surge that is unsurvivable. DAMN!!!

Good luck dude. I hope it isn’t anything major there for you.

Holy hell! I hope it somehow is not that bad.

Best wishes to all in this storm's path. Make sure you dont risk yourself to protect your "things."

I’m in Huffman and have my boat in a shop but my neighbor has a bass boat out in the open and he was putting water in the hull to make heavy so the wind won’t flip it as easy. Hoping this thing turns to the right. Stay safe out there.

15 to 20 ft surge up to 30miles inland. Praying for the gulf coast, be safe.

If you do have to leave during the storm, please remember to not drive through flooded roadways, particularly if there is current. Even if you have a Jeep.

I did Harvey. And a few floods after. Pulled people from sinking cars both times. It's just a Houston way of life at this point. Amazing how stupid people are to get themselves in some of the situations they do.

Just don't be like "young killa"

I can't believe his handle is "killed young"

Well, I report back from my dry house with the same leaves that were in the yard as yesterday unmoved.

Houston was completely missed by the storm. We really didn't get more than a light sprinkle. Pretty unexpected.

The west and coastal part of Louisiana got hit pretty hard. I hope anyone that lives near there is doing alright.

Hey! I got light to moderate rain. Er...

No, I agree. We missed it big time. However, we in the north suburbs get power from the power plants in the area hit. So our power was out today for 6 hours or so. They promise rolling blackouts for the next 3 days.

All-in-all, I think that is a pretty good result. Especially when I think of folks in the Lake Charles area who might be wiped out. Thoughts and prayers for them.
