One picture should shout volumes. Not the shakedown run I was planning. Still may have some damage to the wear ring(S) and/or impeller, but I can't get to it until next weekend. On the plus side, I was only tooling along at ~5mph, or it could have been tons worse.

Unmarked rock pile about 200 yards from shore. The wife, son & I had to get in the water to float it off, and something had the throttle hung up so I couldn't start the engine. Everyone got cut up pretty decent on the zebra mussels, so there was a little washdown that was needed when I got it pulled out onto the trailer.

LOOKS like some gelcoat paste will fix this, but I'm not sure on the wear ring or impeller

Since we were handed lemons on the shakedown cruise, we made lemonade. This was the drive back to port, since I was only able to keep it around 4-5mph for the putt home. My grandson got to learn how stress doesn't help steer the boat where you want it, and nice easy corrections are the way to go.

Nothing we could do until the boat was out of the water, and we weren't taking on water, so it was a great learning time for him, and a way to salvage some fun out of a crap situation.

Where is this....I'm taking notes for visiting when I return and this looks like another good place to visit.

We had a great time with friends on Lake Ouachita on Saturday. The temperature was nice and even the popular areas of the lake were not too busy.

This is supposed to be the clearest lake in Arkansas. We so want to visit this lake this year ... Send more pictures

Lake Ouachita is not only the cleanest lake in Arkansas but the second or third cleanest in the US.

There are lots of existing posts on the lake https://jetboaters.net/search/587435/?q=ouachita&c[title_only]=1&o=relevance

My family is on Ouachita most weeks. Other than holiday weekends there is plenty of room for everyone but weekdays are the best to have large areas of the lake to yourself.

We are about an 8 hour drive south of KC.

Well now that just sucks! Sorry for your bad day on the lake…hope repairs are easy. How do / did the wear rings look? How about the impellers?

Gonna be taking a look later this afternoon. Couldn't dig into it last Sunday as I had stuff to get completed while I still had daylight, before heading home for the week.

I got some gelcoat on Thursday, so I can get started on that later on, and after the first coat, I will move on to the pump.

Finally on the water. LSC
