Well, I suppose that necessity was the mother invention in your besties case LOL!

I think in my area it was called “ON TV” the adult programming was on late at night, but other times it was like subscription TV…. I remember that one could buy a kit to build a box that would allow you to view the images…

Yea, for us it was a series of filters at the connection between the cable company and the house. Once we accessed that box it became cat/mouse with the cable company. Remove filters, they would put them back. We did that 2-3 times before we got smart enough to build "fake" filters that were just pass throughs. Looked like they were installed, but they didn't block anything.

The whole lot of us are engineers now. Like to think we use our powers for good, but won't lie about reverse engineering shit all the time because we're cheap or bored

I remember if you watched the it long enough you would get momentary glimpses of the actual video - we stared at it a lot........
