Russian officials solicit donations for soldiers fighting in Ukraine

Local officials in Russia's Belgorod region bordering Ukraine have set up collection points where citizens can drop off donations of socks, medicine and tinned food for Russian troops fighting in Ukraine, according to messages from the officials seen by Reuters.

Human rights observers will be critical in documenting and bringing formal charges against both the Soldiers, Armed Forces Leadership, and Putin himself if these atrocities being shown on all the mass media are true (no reason to believe they are not). Things like
  • Targeting of Hospitals (the #1 foundation of the Geneva convention)
  • Summary executions of civilians
  • Torture of civilians
  • Murder of civilians (men, women and children)
  • Rape
  • Use of Landmines (although Russia didn't sign the anti landmine international treaty)
I cannot imagine that justice will ever be served against Putin. I'll bet he just executes a few Generals (who were following his orders) and blames them.

I do hope we continue to provide more and more advanced equipment to the Ukrainian forces to crush the Russian offensive, even to the point of pushing them out of Crimea. What is going on there continues to astonish me.

Interesting. Which party platform is rooted in the support for unprovoked invasions of sovereign nations? Which of us are required to support Russia out of party affiliation?

The membership decided to avoid partisan political discussion in 2014 and our all volunteer administrators will do their best to keep it that way. That is a settled issue.

Its pretty apparent that what was true in 2014 is no longer true in 2022. Partisan politics has injected itself into nearly every facet of modern social life. I'm not a fan of that, I'm sure you aren't either - but as you can tell allowing threads like this and the COVID ones have introduced far more conflict and contempt here than anything else in the 5ish years I've been here. The most contentious discussion we used to have was what to do with ClemsonTiger; now we have members openly threatening each other with violence, and letting spats here spill over into other threads. It's a small community, and arguments in a few threads will have ramifications elsewhere.

Its your forum, and of course you can do with it as you please, but in my opinion, allowing these topics will only hasten its demise. I know I sure spend less time on here than I used to. Just my two cents and I'll see myself back out.
