Russia Invades Ukraine AND Chinese Aircraft Enter Taiwan Airspace

Ummmm you do realize I was talking about WWII and NATO wasn't formed until 1949......

Interesting reading the various poll data:

Here is a snippet:
Despite the mixed opinions on the broad contours of American foreign intervention, some of these questions also exposed partisan and age differences in public attitudes. For instance, in both surveys, about 3 in 5 Democrats preferred supporting Ukraine over staying out or backing Russia, while about half of Republicans and more than half of independents preferred to support neither country. But while Americans under 45 tend to be more Democratic-leaning, they were more likely to say the U.S. should support neither country — or that they weren’t sure — while older Americans felt more strongly that the U.S. should support Ukraine.
The age splits could reflect lingering anti-Russian views among older Americans who remember the Cold War. Polling from The Economist/YouGov last week found that about half of Americans ages 45 or older viewed Russia as an “enemy” of the U.S., while only around a quarter of those under 45 said the same. The divide may also reflect the skepticism that many young Americans have toward American military intervention, as many came of age during the lengthy and troubled wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.
I'm just wondering is this about politics?

Germany and Poland are part of NATO.

i think he was referring to how Germany began its March for world domination during ww2. And how history is starting to repeat itself.

While @TX_Mercenary's comment is bordering on political discussion, which is not allowed on this forum it is important to point out that the Keystone XL was not an operating pipeline and was not able of pumping any oil in this timeframe. Keystone XL was a planned expansion of the Keystone Pipeline which is operating as it has for more than a decade. The XL expansion was stopped by court order in 2018, if not earlier, and ended by a United States Supreme Court decision in 2020. The oil that might have been transferred to the XL expansion is moving by truck and rail.
You are kidding right. This whole thread is political.

I picked up on that. It was written partly joking and partly because I don’t think it’s realistic to compare pre NATO to post NATO. Personally, I think Russia attacking Georgia is a more apt comparison. Granted, it’s not as foreboding as comparing it to the start of a world war. To each their own.

Edit: Grammar

I agree @Txbred
More media non-sense.

There is a reason this didn't happen during the last administration.
What about This?
I think we need a new rule on the forum that stops this:

from happening.
Political: relating to the government or the public affairs of a country.
I agree with deleting TX’s post about POTUS but why just pick on this? Because its about Keystone? And its not what you like?

Not as foreboding for us here in the USA. Simply sitting by while a democratic country that wants to join NATO gets invaded by their despotic neighbor while the world watches.....

Not a moment I'll ever be proud of.

But another full scale war.....not keen on that either.

It is partisan political comments that are not allowed on our forum. If this thread can remain a discussion of facts, concepts, ideas and history that is fine.

This is explained at https://jetboaters.net/threads/politics-religion-and-other-volatile-topics.1801/
“Partisan Political comments/photos will not be allowed. Keep things generic. Saying something like: "The federal government is doing a bad job" is ok.”
So why is saying that keystone should open up so gas prices can lower partisan?

WOW. I'm feel bad that you actually believe yourself when you speak. But here is one example:

thank God, at least we didn't have a POTUS act like a Russian pawn, imagine that!
:banghead:

Yep, nothing political there. I guess when you agree with someone its not political, you think it's fact.

The comments was "need to open up back the oil pipe line from cananda that they cancelled i think back in May so we can get back to lower gas prices".

This states an untruth "open up back" and is a common partisan political position.

My comment was that it "borders on political" discussion which is why the comment remains and the author did not receive a warning.

Lets get back on topic.

In all aspects of our opinions is biased! I agree to keep this forum a place for boats and a place to talk to our own. What I cant get on board with is when staff calls out those who “break the rules” in their own eyes in front of the forum. PM them….

So should we go flying around the forum and point out when some one makes a mistake or an “untruth”

Russian forces are less than 20 miles away from the capital. Does Ukraine give up to save innocent lives?
I don't know if they stand a chance.

They never had a chance to begin with. If we'd supplied them with an air defense system it might have been a better approach to dissuading an invasion....but no President chose to do that.

I give them 24hrs. The death and destruction is inevitable, I'm sorry to say.
I think less than 24… Russia has attacked almost ever major city! Also not to mention the useless savage attack on civilian warehouses and etc.
