Speedling in hospital.....

@Speedling Glad to hear the smartass is fully operational! Thats the best sign of recovery! :winkingthumbsup"

@Speedling, humor is a good sign!

Perhaps Susan can bring you food from outside the hospital or are they controlling your diet?

Glad to hear you're doing as well as you are and you got help as soon as you did Lee. Colleen and I have been thinking of you and Susan and your little ones and look forward to seeing you this summer.

@Speedling , brother, I somehow missed this thread and it took me almost an hour to read through start until now on the 6th page. I actually looked into the conversations to see how you were doing on the anchor and wondered why I hadn't had any updates from you. I sure am shocked and sorry to read of your stroke...but I am both optimistic and encouraged to see how you are recovering. I know it is hard not to worry, but your in good hands and you do have a great number of friends in your corner, not to mention your faith and all of that support. So hand over the tiller to Susan, and leave the worry to others, and take the frustrations of improvement in stride. Your on our prayer list as well as on our minds. We are thankful that you got immediate attention and the care you needed to recover. Get well soon Lee and follow that physical therapy schedule. It may be frustrating, don't give up, "just do it" as Nike says. God's Speed Speedling!

They let me walk to a "step down room. I had to use a walker but did it myself! Obe step closer to home

Good deal. Keep on pushing through. Literally "one step in front of the next."

Great to hear you are recovering! Godspeed!

@Speedling I hope you can find inspiration from your daughter as you lay down tonight.

@Speedling how are things going today? They have you up some more?

Susan (Mrs. Speedling) reported on Facebook that Lee is being transported to a closer lower level hospital. He has moved from ICU to being in a normal room undergoing physical therapy. She said his peripheral vision is improving.

This is MrsSpeedling's last update

"As if today.... Lee is being released from UIC and being transferred to st. Margaret Hospital in Dyer.
There he will be receiving intense physical therapy to strengthen his hands and walking.

Praise God for his healing mercy!"

Fantastic news!

@Speedling
Everyone here knows you like to make things fast and get extra speed, but please take this recovery SLOW and steady. Glad to hear you are doing better. Prayers inbound!

@Speedling - Have the docs decided what caused your TIA? Is it hereditary?

You're a rather young guy and seem in decent shape. I hope they can provide you some feed back and future direction.

As you get going again, remember that prayer groups are beneficial for our soles but raising stroke awareness saves lives! Pay it forward and raise awareness and onset recognition.
