Me. All good.

While yes, fully vaccinated and "boosted" patients can still catch the virus, they do so at much less rate. So you would be protecting those who can't get vaccinated yet more than someone who is not vaccinated.

Do you actually read this shit before you post it. People that can't get vs people that aren't? Wtf

I do apologize if my English is not perfect. It is my second language after all, and things don't always come out grammatically perfect. ?‍♂️

What I'm saying is that someone who is vaccinated is less likely to be infected compared to someone who is not vaccinated. Hence that vaccinated person is less likely to infect others, right? And part of the reason we get vaccinated is to protect those who can't (little kids for example) or those in whom vaccines don't work that well (immunosuppressed). I hope that explains my delicious word salad.

But seriously, why so aggro?

You lost me on that one. Not sure what you mean.

It made sense and wasn’t word salad.

@Bruce - there should be trophy points for vaccinations/boosters.
And when giving awards doesn't work as an incentive, we could always threaten to kick them out from making contributions to the forum unless they do. :winkingthumbsup"

What's the saying...? Life imitates Comedy?... oh, no that's art... never mind. ?

We don't take contributions to the forum....we bear the cost ourselves. So no, we wouldn't kick them out for not contributing :winkingthumbsup" <Sarcasm font needed for all these less than productive replies>

I went to put my boat to storage a few weeks ago. One of their employees was hospitalized from covid. He weighs 300lbs+ and unvaccinated .. at that point it seems like playing russian roulette.
Also found out that my sister's brother-in-law died of covid. Unvaccinated. Leaves behind a wife and teenager.
Then I found out about the new variant on Friday when my stock portfolio dropped more than 2%. I had to google what was happening!
I can't believe we are almost 2 years into this shit..

2 years and 777k dead in the US.....and there will be no end to it. Much like the flu- it is here to stay, unlike the (normal) flu, its morbidity is higher - so vaccines will remain our primary effective preventative. More effective treatments will likely be developed too.

It is the new norm. Don't let it control you.

We have trips planned....Turks in April.....St. Lucia in August - can't wait!!!! (Turks requires you be vaccinated to enter their country-not sure about St. Lucia)

Im working remote and I traveled the most in the past 2 years than I have in all my life. I'm going down to rio de janeiro again. From there maybe vacation in Argentina's patagonia. I'm not sure when I will return to the USA .. I have to decide if I will return to sell the boat or sell it via consignment in april. All the places have told me 10% fee which is steep

10% is pretty standard for all boats, including yachts.

If you don't have the time or the inclination to sell the boat yourself, consignment is a great way to go, especially while the market is still hot. If you can get the boat on consignment before you leave again, do it, as that is one less thing to worry about.

Agreed, in this hot of a market that 10% will be a wash. Though this late in the game, I would wait until April. Supply chain won't be any better then.

What you speak of, the verdict is still out on factually. Most of what you say is narrative posturing. Whether or not the vaccine stops "infection" to the point of non contagion has not been factually determined. What is factually determined is that it prevents hospitalization and more serious disease.

That posturing comes from narrative people too,...the mask Nazi's. You cant have it both ways.

I have it listed now at market price. There's some interest, but everyone is looking for a bargain. I tell people that I already paid for storage so i'm waiting until april. I also don't think the supply chain will improve.

There are a number of studies in progress on these topics. A UK one shows that you are less likely to test positive if vaccinated (IE-you contract Covid less often when vaccinated).

Other data is showing that vaccination correlates to reduction in cases (infection and spread). Studies are being done to determine if this correlation is due to vaccinations or something else, but early pre-print studies seem to be confirming that vaccination is driving down the infection and transmission rates.

But we've know for decades that vaccines reduce disease spread and infection - the only way to prove it with this, or the next disease, is to see the data afterwards.
