How many times did you have EMS/police at your ramp this year? I know two for sure but I think there was at least one more........

Total of 4, might be 5, but I'm certain on 4.

I said something like that when the EMS showed up - "Hate to keep meeting up like this"

That initial 400 grit scratch on the lens was nerve wracking, but at that point it couldn't be worse than it was and I was already committed. The true test is how long it will last, but even if I need to strip the UV clear coat off and do it again every couple of years, its a win for me.
definitely a few "wtf am I doing" moments early on

Had this little fella about 10' outside my fence last night. Even with my German Shepard going absolutely nuts, it didn't phase him a bit. If she wasn't outside, he probably would have come to the fence. Funny thing, Florida deer are about the same size as my dog, so maybe he thought she was a deer with Tourette's.

Some coastal flooding with strong Northeast winds pushing the Trent River and my backyard Ready Creek backwards. Haven't seen this much water since Hurricane Florence. It should subside in a few hours when the winds die down. Its up currently 3 to 4 feet

We have had a few cold mornings lately…

So we made the 3 hour trip down the lake to Shelburne, yesterday for haulout tomorrow.

In Malletts Bay heading for the causeway "Cut" to the broad lake.

Channel 2 forecast said <10kt wind and waves to 1 foot, which was true at Burlington, but North of there around Colchester Reef was a little higher at 15kts.

Yes we have spider poop to clean up.

Out on the broad lake between Colchester Reef and Appletree Point were 1-2 footers with the occasional 3’ trough, causing a prop to momentarily come out out of the water.

Short video compliment of my wife.

The cat and her occupants handled it fine.

Ice on the deck this morning at 27° but it’s up to 55° on its way to 65° later for boating day 31 this season. Just another derp and a super fun derpy day! IMG_9188.jpegIMG_9189.jpegIMG_9190.jpegIMG_9191.jpeg

Drove to Tierra Verde for lunch Saturday and snapped a couple pictures from the parking lot. Saw a 195S and a AR190 trailering to Fort Desoto on my way to the restaurant too.

Clouds blew in a bit later and it looked like it might rain but did not, got so dark couldn’t wear my sunglasses and thought about going back to the dock for my low light glasses

Last week I had the honor or giving a lecture on boating safety and what the USCG Auxiliary does for the local fishing club in Tampa, Salt Strong. This was a great collaboration between both of us as these anglers have various boats from kayaks to pontoons and flats to offshore boats. I tried making it as fun and engaging as possible. Overall, it turned out better than I expected with a lot of Q&A at the end.
