2018 Bimini June trip (June 24th - June 30th)

Careful boss that did not work for lakeboy who left with the "group" right up to the point where he was left by the "group" and his family was picked up by @wallacerb. Who did not leave with rhe "group"

O WOW, you don't see everyday a stand up guy deliver a blow below the belt.

Anyone know this guy? This is what he carries on the back of his ski on his Bimini crossings....too much fuel for me to be comfortable...I’ll pay a few extra bucks!
Yep, the one and only! (Kristian Ichazo) LOL

View attachment 76913 View attachment 76912 View attachment 76910 In the three crossing I have made I have never needed to refuel on the water but this is my set up (nozzles in of course)
Last year I was beeping for a VERY long time, I was actually nervous, but I made it to the fuel pumps at the sands and saved the jugs for later and a couple of bucks

How big are those cans Valerie? I had two 5 gallon cans strapped so tight they were beginning to bend a bit going to the Exumas. I didn’t think they had a chance to move. Well that all changed about 20 miles in as both cans came loose. Not only that, trying to handle the weight in moving seas was a pain in the you know what. I would be very cautious strapping 2 down. I can’t imagine you needing both if any at all. I may bring a small can but I really don’t want to.

My friends who are there now said gas is $5.12 a gallon at the sands
I wonder why it’s so high

This are the 5 gallon jugs
I would try and use the buddy system IF I needed to refuel I’m gonna grab the quick pour spout and see if that helps with the transfer of the fuel. Even in last years crossing they didn’t budge but I will never say never

Bimini always seems to be about $2.50 higher than Florida pump prices and I'm see Florida prices at around $2.60, so it is inline with what I have seen over the years.

Gas prices are up in the US as well. June 1st the price at Bimini Sands was $5.35. In 2014 Bimini gas was over $6 a gallon

@Amar Nanduri no worried at all. If things do not work on the limo. We still have too options.

1. I can swing by DC and fetch your boat.
2. I can bring my boat. She is ready to go. She just needs an awesome crew ;)
@Betik Hopefully it will not come to that. Going to the customs now. I have now really started praying :)

Well that forecast went downhill pretty fast

I was kinda wondering if it was because the Whalers were there..... supply and demand?

Sunday is looking better now

It is looking significantly better right now but it’s still early the forecast is going to change everyday so I would not make any plans just yet to try and change anything you probably still have another 36 to 48 hours before we have a good idea of the real forecast for Sunday and Monday

The sooner we have a good idea the better. We are strongly looking at moving up to Sunday based partially on the weather but mainly we just want the extra day in Bimini now :D Bimini Sands has our condo available Sunday and we have until tomorrow night at midnight to cancel our Bahi Mar room for Sunday so hopefully we’ll have a general idea of the conditions by tomorrow night.

Same. .

Lip? Do you mean the lower swim platform is wider?

taller you have a wall for the cans to bear against. That vertical lip on ours is about 3-4 inches. I'll try strapping some to the backrest cusions

The wall didn't really come into play with them. Their weight alone keeps them planted. The straps hold them down to the handle not the wall. And I put straps through both the back and the top handles down to the boat handle. This stopped them from sliding back and/or tilting.

Avoid preventing access to the clean out ports....I'd switch to an interior location before I did that.
