2018 Bimini June trip (June 24th - June 30th)

The sooner we have a good idea the better. We are strongly looking at moving up to Sunday based partially on the weather but mainly we just want the extra day in Bimini now :D Bimini Sands has our condo available Sunday and we have until tomorrow night at midnight to cancel our Bahi Mar room for Sunday so hopefully we’ll have a general idea of the conditions by tomorrow night.

I too plan to make my call on what to do with the BAhia mar reservations tomorrow evening as well. Unfortunately though we really wont have a good idea of the forecast probably until Thursday it is just as possible that tomorrow morning you wake up in Sunday’s forecast looks terrible and Monday looks fine it’s still too far out to really get a good gauge.

Can we finesse the Bahia Mar into giving us another 24 hours on our cancelation?

i'm under the impression the marina will be more forgiving since it isn't paid for till you arrive. I'm thinking they will accommodate a change from 2 nights to 1 ? right?

Sunday people: As the forecast devolves we can revisit, and seal the deal at the captains meeting but I'll table the following for thought: The sooner the gooder !! sunrise is 6:29 sunday so ::

In the past we've done roll call and engines on at 6am at bahia mar: "no wake" over to the marina for fuel top off, then turning basin. It can consume some time before we hit open water. We can target the marina at 6am when they open (skip it altogether? ) and try to shave off the better part of an hour. ?? thoughts?

waverunners: whats the deal on scooting around at pre dawn ?

note: the forecast at Bimini is holding as the hours progress thru the day currently.

Reading about the fuel prep, I wondered if you guys know about this little fuel transfer hose. My buddy uses this to put fuel in his ski at the marina to avoid any fuel spilling. It works really well. You just insert into the full tank, insert the other end into the empty tank, make sure the full tank is higher than the empty tank, and shake the hose up and down a few times to get the fuel primed and flowing.

I'm leaving later...but if I were going at this hour, I'd be using gas from a 5 gallon can of my own vs waiting in line for gas at 6am! Another good reason for having gas! <eat MORE BEANS> LOL

And with my new speed nozzles on my 5 gallon cans, they will empty in < 60 seconds! WOOT

The last 2 years we have topped our tanks the day before so there’s no stopping in the morning.

I don't think they have stopped since 2014 for fuel in the morning.

Ugh
We have been moved to unit 8-F due to the ac not working in 14-J

You'll still be in paradise....Think of the upsides:
  1. Closer to the marina store and restaurant!
  2. Next door to the crazy Mitchell Brothers!
  3. 60 extra steps each way to the pool....will burn off some of the rum calories
  4. still in paradise!!!
Watch this and smile:

I think you maybe happy with that move. You're still close to the pool but now closer to the office/restaurant. Since the poolside bar is closed I have a feeling my family will have several meals at the main restaurant.

years ago we walked thru the woods to the south of the sands.....good lord, we got attacked by the mosquitos....My comments are only based on being near those woods...

@Ramblin Wreck poolside bar closed ?? the infinity pool ?

I believe @Bruce stated the poolside bar was closed. Pool is definitely open.

Wonder if it would make sense for us to bring hot dog fixings (etc) to the pool and cook up food there for the group? @Bruce can you confirm no food at the pool? If there are gas grills there...do we need to bring our own gas?
