Never mind, they won’t insure jet boats for Bahamas.

SkiSafe Insurance now covers Bahamas for up to 30 days:

Navigational Limits: Inland and coastwise waters of the United States and Canada including the territorial waters of the Bahamas for a maximum of 30 consecutive days.

Safe drive, we’re not leaving till Sunday morning.

I switched to Foremost from Progressive, got much better coverage +Bahamas and Mexico for extra $125

I had foremost for our crossing in 2017.

Anyone know how or where we slip to clear customs? is it as simple as pulling in to Big Game club paying for a transient slip and walking over to Customs to clear?

also, Im staying in the Canal and have plans to tour the north island. any marina suggestions to slip for the day?
We just pulled into slips at the BGC and walks to customs and then to immigration. No slip fee.

Those with experience, how are you interpreting the weather forecast for Monday departure?

Right now the forecast looks good, especially as you get closer to Bimini, it won't be flat but the waves will be minimal 1 ft or less with minimal chop.

Both wind direction and wave direction have been stable for several days now, and are forecasted to continue to remain that way.
Wind force is over 10mph, that's why the wave forecast is higher for Sat and Sun. The wind is dying down on Sunday with very little wind on Monday. You will see a little residual wave action from that wind, but if the forecast holds like this, it should be a fairly easy crossing.

We are heading out Saturday morning, staying somewhere along the way and finishing Sunday morning. Coming from meridian ms to Ft Lauderdale if anyone needs anything feel free to reach out. Jason Burt 601-938-3745

We're in Polk City for the day visiting my folks and preparing. Forecast looking great for Monday! 1000 miles towing down, a few more to go.

Looks like you are going to have a very “rough “ crossing, I almost want to feel bad for you, expect that I don’t .....

Boat is loaded up, departing Tampa at 0600 tomorrow!!! It'll be interesting picking up the rest of the crew at the Ft Lauderdale airport towing the boat...might be the norm in that area.

Should’ve listened, poles were up.
