Maybe some of y'all saw this on another facebook page, a couple of days ago in the Dallas Fort-Worth area:

Apparently, the truck hit the safety barrier, came to a sudden stop at the post, the boat went flying over the top of the truck! Reportedly, no serious injuries.

If you look at the layout....that boat must have gone airborne! The boat was at road level and had to ride up the full height of the barrier and the truck, probably deflected off the concrete upright and landed. Would have been an amazing multi million hit YouTube video!

And I keep thinking the squished orange barrel is some poor guy in an orange rain coat with a dive mask on under the truck! LOL

Wonder if the tie down straps were on?

A little different perspective with this traffic cam shot:

According to a KHOU-11 news report:

"FORT WORTH, Texas — A single-vehicle crash caused a boat to launch off a trailer on Interstate 35W Sunday evening, leading to parts of the highway being shut down for hours, Fort Worth police said.

Police said they responded to the crash around 6:30 p.m. in the southbound lanes of I-35W near State Highway 170 (Alliance Gateway Freeway).

A pickup truck that was pulling a trailer with a boat had crashed into a concrete barrier and came to a rest on top of the barrier, according to police.

Police said the impact caused the boat to launch off the trailer and hit the back of the pickup before coming to a rest in between two medians on the highway.

According to police, the boat was not properly secured to the trailer. The trailer also detached from the pickup.

The driver of the pickup was not injured and didn't need medical attention at the scene, police said.

Police said parts of the highway had to be shut down as three wreckers were needed at the scene to tow away the pickup truck, boat and trailer."

I joke often with the people who stumble across my launch, but I've never considered someone might actually try to launch their boat head first.

I should print this out, laminate it, and put it ON the stop sign, then tell people this was the last guy who ignored the stop sign. Surprising, how many people don't pay attention to a stop sign. With a boat on the back.
