Hey @Julian how does this compare to crossing in a Yamaha?

Last year was worse that that for us. No where near 30mph, took a he!! of a beating & lost track of how many times the 230 came out of the water.

Interesting,

Curious how much that Axopar hull shape helps cut through the waves as compared to a jet.

I would love to cross in a 30+ foot boat with AC! Looks like the period jn those waves was longish. Our crossing was 3-4s with a very short period...we had to stay at 16 to keep the bow up. Any slower and you were drilling the next wave with the bow, any faster and you were airborne rangers all the time.

Clearly did see the mud! I remember once bad a long long time ago one of my first boat trip down in Sav. With tide changes you always have to be careful. We were riding along and I thought I saw a school of small fish hitting the surface. Thinking this could be good fishing I went right to it. Nope shallow water and I realized it just a little late. Not bad I got out and pushed her back into the deeper water. I have come close to hitting mud when it is a foot under the surface or so. I always watch my depth gauge and channel markers. This guy looks like he just ran up on the mud bank, and hard.

Holy Cheese and MF-ing Rice this is scary as all hell!

Warning it's a non-gory, but quite graphic crash. Driver of truck and Motorcycle survived I've read.

Wow! is about all i can say

Fascinating, especially for tech geeks like me. And if you're a self professed tech geek and haven't read "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy", boating season is over for most of us - go get yourself all four books in the trilogy (yep!) and start reading!
