Man, that makes me sad to see that happen to you.

There is a some fiberglass showing right under the drain plug and shallower scratches all up and down the bottom of the hull. Not to mention...those rocks! Is there any gel coat/fiberglass damage from them?
Yes....sad for sure.
Lesson definitely learned. Bilge alarm and 2nd pump should be 1st priority.Man, that makes me sad to see that happen to you.
The one from the front was taken by the salvage on approach. The other was after he hooked up the pumps which yes is that blue hose you see. It wasn’t actually working at first because the water was just continuing to come over the swim deck. Eventually he pivoted it to put the bow into the waves then it worked ok.Wow! Those are painful to see!
When were these pics snagged (I assume before the tow) I see a ramp not too far away in one of the photos. Is that blue hose from the salvage pump?
I don't suppose just anyone can use that ramp though? Sure would be a great spot to launch from though. Did you have to get some sort of special permission?yeah the ramp is the macdill Air Force base ramp. I didn’t even know they had one until the guy suggested to bring the trailer there.
I believe any active duty or retired military can use it. They had to move heaven and earth to let me bring my trailer down there. Took about 25 mins or so to get all the approvals required. Then base police escort, they waited the entire time then escorted me off base. They were super nice though. One guy was a retired seal and the other guy was a blackwater contractor.I don't suppose just anyone can use that ramp though? Sure would be a great spot to launch from though. Barney’s St Pete. IMO their service dept is >>>>>>>>>> than cycle springs.
Manager called me back within 30 mins, called insurance , etc.
When I had my mid bearings done at the other place they couldn’t get the actual bearing for months. So I ordered it and brought it in for them in 4 days. When I got the bill there were 4 bearings on the bill, 2 were 0 cost and 2 were whatever like $55. When I asked them to take them off he asked why. I said because I dropped them off. He said yeah but there are 2 on each side so you need 4.
Asked him to pull up the parts diagram after which he conceded and took the other 2 off the bill.
Yeah, apparently they have a guy who all he does is source parts. But they aren’t allowed to use regular consumer sites like boats.net or partzilla or whatever. They told me that they can’t get parts through their regular channels because all those other types of places bought all the parts inventory when the pandemic started.I really hope you have better luck at Barney's,
This is such a disappoint to hear and why when a member says they're going to the dealership I cringe,
they'll get the bearings in "months", you're somehow able to source it in 4 days
they double charge you, you question it, they don't research it, they take the easy out and guess, hoping you'll just walk away,
.
It’s a night and day experience so far.mBarneys service department is great, they should be able to help you. I'm not allowed to speak about others.
I’ve actually wanted to tear down one of these 1.8L so if the price was right I may take them up on it.Sounds like a project boat at that point. Find an older 07-09 230 series that needs major interior work and/or fiberglass work and transplant the 2 MR1's from it into the 240 along with all of the electrical. Then you would have the newer designed hull/interior with the bulletproof engines to go along with it.
Haven’t seen it yet....was just talking on the phone.I bet you could get it running great for under 10k, if you do all the work your self.
What does the 49k include?
Haven’t seen it yet....was just talking on the phone.
Not yet. And unless it’s something visibly obvious I’m not sure they would ever be able to tell without having running engines in there...Man, this makes me sick to my stomach. I'm hoping for the best turnout for you. I'll be pulling the engine hatch on my boat every half hour. I've been following the thread, but did you ever find the source of the water coming in?
Are the SBT engines as garbage as everyone seems to say they are? They don’t make their “premium” version of the 1.8L HO.
I think the standard engines only come with 1 year. The premium ones are 2 years. I think I found the premium one for the 1.8L. They just have the applications listed as only 2010-2012, but I don't think there's a difference to 2014. Probably just not updated. I'd have to contact them and see.I only know them from what I read here but if I were to buy from them I would get the best warranty package that they have due to the hit or miss that I keep hearing about with their engines.
