Just got there. Hardtop and installation this week, radar on this week, seadeck a couple weeks ago, transom lights this week, trim tabs this week.
I said F it and am paying Cycle springs to do a crapload of work that I have wanted to do for the last year.

Cycle Springs!?! Do you live down here; Clearwater?

No New York. My dealer can’t Evan fix the livewell. I don’t ever want trouble with it I’d rather just have someone who knows what they’re doing install and fix it completely. I keep it in islamorada For the winter. I use it 10 hours in the summer in NY 100 in the winter down there. I don’t think I’m going to bring it up to NY next year.

You know what they say; the difference between men and boys is the price of their toys.

Besides, you got to spend it on something (besides your wife) :p

One way or the other it gets spent on her...she owns the boat too. :winkingthumbsup"

I don't think I had $10K in mods to my previous boat, which I had for 18 years!

That being said, I've had my AR240 for less than 3 months and I am probably closing in on $1500 in mods for it already.

Now my "other, other" boat is a different story. It's a 1989 Stardust houseboat that we've owned for 10 years. It was a rental for most of its life before we got it. I've redone so much of it that my wife jokes that we are going to rename it "Under Construction" (when she isn't calling it worse names).

I am still a wee bit shy of $10k. DIY has saved me a lot of money. The big items are the stereo, trim tabs, ridesteady, ballast system, board racks, and seadek. Smaller items like inverter, diy kegerator, gas struts for seat compartments, pano mirror, vhf radio/antenna and such do add up but not as quick as the big items. Had I not gone DIY on all of the projects and demanded the quality I hold myself to I would have passed $10k long ago. Stereo was easily the most expensive with over $3k in parts and I got some great deals on that stuff. I am basically done with mods to this boat so I may not quite hit $10k. I am going to replace the Bimini and mooring cover next year but I consider that upkeep.

It is easy to look back and think I should have bought xyz boat but would it be as customized or the upgrades as good? How much do they charge for the options you have added? Do you enjoy doing the DIY thing?

I think I need to change my vote...I did not realize how much we have spent until I started making a list...SeaDek, keel guard, dual battery set-up w/ACR & dual chargers, new amp & added speakers, too many water toys to list (ski's, wakeboards, kneeboard, tubes, etc.), thrust vector, trailer guides and if you count the boat lift and new dock...my head is spinning, but it's all worth it :winkingthumbsup"

Very impressed with the details and ability to remember so many items (big & small)

Started an Excel spreadsheet when I bought the boat, do it on all vehicles, toys, know myself way too well . $6642.00 to date (3 Years) Stereo most expensive item..We do not not ski, or wake board so no items related to any of that stuff. Do all my own work, Engineer by trade, way too picky to let anybody touch my stuff. (yes I have trust issues!)
Always tearing stuff apart to redesign and make better. Will it never end?

Put about 4k in last winter.. my first winter with boat. Will do audio probably next year and then trim tabs if anything else will be close to 7500-8500 when done with it all

If I could do it again I would get a Deluxe and do it up from there.

More than I care to admit, and less than I want to.

I gave up totaling years ago.
