My 2016 Yamaha 242X thread....(MORE photos added 6/14/19)

@Julian how do you like the Wet Sounds bar? I've been looking into this...I have 2 8" Icons on there right now and debating on putting two more on there or go with a bar. We mainly listen at the cove/beach and don't need projected sound, but want to be able to hear it good (better!) while swimming and hanging outside of the boat. The bar would eliminate another amp, so that is a big plus. Did you install? If so, how was the install?
I like it....fills in the sound gap in the 242X cabin. It came with the boat....so I didn't install it.

Hydrotherapy 3 actually (a cool new font for the cool new boat).....the SX230 was 2, and when I added the stern speakers it covered up the 2, so I took it off. Although I did briefly consider Veedubteksspareboatwheneverhewantstouseit, but couldn't afford the full boat wrap we'd have to have bought to fit it on the boat!:woot:

What Font is that?

New owner and boater here so sorry if this is a stupid question, but if you hang your life jackets in the starboard storage area, is there any concern about your electronics getting wet or damp? Or is that only dry storage for the jackets and when wet you keep them somewhere else?

I never put anything wet inside storage compartments like that. If it is damp...maybe....but typically any wet jackets go on our porch to dry before going back on the boat.

That said, wet lifejackets get clipped (using the clips that do up the jackets) to the tower or handles around the boat so that when we are driving they get blow dried.

Here are some shots of the fuse block and wires runs etc:

@Julian all of your kids and runs look top notch and would meet my own expectations to the letter! Not that I need to be impressed, but I am! Envious even. You know I have all the projects I need presently, but if I still had a pc instead of Mac, I would be adding great diagrams still to this day, I love those too! As they say, a picture says 1000 words! Nice boat, and nice work!!!

Great job!!! Vary clean

Here is where I put the paper towel holder. I thought the handle WAS a paper towel holder. So I attached to it....the handle is solid (not hollow) so this worked well.

How did you attach that paper towel roller to the handle?

The towel holder is designed to screw on to things....and I learned the the handle is solid, so I just screwed it right on, and its been perfect! The only tricky part was sliding the hangar onto the bracket...you have to bend it slightly to get it on....but that is a one time event. Of course I pre-drilled the holes.

Ok thanks.

Man I love that space blue color. So sad 2016 didn't offer that color. My favorite color.

Here is where I put the clothes Rod. I bought a nice chrome one, but was worried it might rattle, so I went with wood instead.

Do you have the measurements of that rod? I'm stealing that idea too! Also, did you add those metal brackets holding the rod or those where there?

This was a total home depot special. I got chrome rod holders for closets and a closet bar I had sitting in the garage....I went with wood because it is at an angle and I didn't want metal rattling....and frankly...wood was much quicker to cut and deal with! :-)
