One picture of your last outing.

Are you trolling or jigging for Lakers? On Champlain, most jig for Summer lakers while they are deep. As the water cools and they come back up, trolling will resume.

Trolling… I’ve done some jigging and there is some interest and a few nibbles but no bites. There is a guy who jigs exclusively and he came by yesterday and was asking if I was doing any good, he said the past couple of weeks he had only caught one. I’ve also been told they are getting ready to spawn and they have very little interest in eating. To reiterate, the one my friend had on yesterday was big, and that was the first one to get off, hooked that one in 120’ of water with the down rigger set at 85’.. I was heading out the past couple of days with the intent to get two and fillet them out, I’ve put all the others back up to now. Minimum size that can be kept here is 24”, and one per day.

Daily limit is 2 Lakers greater than 18" here. Do you see or have any Lamprey in your waters?

No lampreys here….

This is my last boating of the 2022 season for sure. With temps in the 90s my wife and I took the Waverunners to old Sacramento for lunch, at the crab shack.

My wife’s assessment of the trip, this is what I was thinking of when I bought this ski. I thought, at a cost of $35kish (+ $200 $300 per day’s use (gas, fees and lunch)), worth the every F’ing penny!

That looks great! It looks like it was a long trip!

Nice day out on the Lake today. Almost had it to ourselves.

Posted more pics in the Laker thread.. I never get enough of the cobalt blue sky here.. what a great day on the lake.. I put in at 0800 and pulled out around 1930hrs. My touch screed on the mfd has stopped working again. Talked with Humminbird a few times about this recently, my unit is a couple of months out of warranty but they said they will extend the warrant since it was close to the end of the warranty. Going to send it back sometime in November once the boat goes into the shop. The unit still works, just have to use the buttons and knobs to navigate the screens. Other than one crabby pants csr, all of the rest have been super nice and knowledgeable about my Solix, the csr’s walked me through all of the different procedures to try and fix it, and to teach me how to navigate with the knobs and buttons for things that I was doing with the touch screens.

Also tried setting up some I tracks today, basically 2 mile navigation / trolling routes. Pretty darn awesome, once set up and navigation starts, you set the cruise control and for 2 miles there is nothing to do but watch the lines and the imaging screens.

Looks like you had the place to yourself !

Yeah, the closest boat was a couple hundred yards away. By far my favorite spot because even when it's busy, the closest boats are still 50yds away. Rooker is my wife's favorite but you stack 4 deep on an average weekend since Irma killed 50% of it.
