The best reason I've seen was a dually that backed in, and my wife couldn't figure out why. I pointed out that if someone parked alongside him, when he came back out, his rear wheel wells might be blocking him from getting in.

The car to his left wouldn't realize it, and it would force the car to the right to have to back in as well.

Always backed in my dually, to give me and anyone parking next to me more room. Stick that fat ass out over the grass if possible. But NOT over the sidewalk. I'm not that guy.
