Mine only lasts about 3 seasons. First time the ladder mfg (Windline?) sent me a free replacement. Second time they wanted more to ship it than it cost so I just pulled one of these out of my bungee bucket. Works great and Going on 5th season now.

I'm using one of those tarp bungies also. Cheap, readily available at Home Depot, and come in a package with enough of them that I'm sure they will have aged beyond use before I wear more than a few of them out.

My 10 yr old niece ripped off the rubber ladder holder in the second season on my 07 SX230 (my first yamaha boat) and when I got back I used one of these bungees as a temporary fix until I could buy the factory replacement. Four years later I sold the boat with the same bungee holding the ladder up. This is the best idea to fixing the broken rubber holder no matter how cheap it is to replace.

Oh, by the way, on my 2012 LS my first mod was to eliminate the need for a swim ladder rubber catch and switched ladders to this

I use the same thing. I actually received the OEM rubber part but it's in my tool bag in the boat. I keep a couple of these bungee cords in the tool bag too. The last time the bungee broke I put another one on instead of the OEM part.

I received a replacement ladder from Windline with the black rubber keeper strap. I'm going to remove it and put a Bungee on it. The Bungee is easier to use.

Mine broke on the water a couple weeks ago. I had to use a velcro strap from West Marine as a temp fix so the ladder wouldn't slide out while underway. But I went to our local Yamaha Dealer and they had one in stock. $10.99. Thought that was an okay deal until I saw the posts above. But I'm back to OEM I guess, so I'm okay until this one goes.

Mine broke about 2 years ago, I popped into the local Gun store and got a meter of catapult rubber didn't need very much and still working well today with a lot left for the next time it happens, A successful fix and didn't need to go looking for Yamaha Agent.

I decided to change the rear boarding strap at the same time and made a stainless handle and made a couple of rubber gaskets just to finish the job, Just another job i don't have to do again.

I will put some photos on here of the finished article when i have learned how to navigate my way around this website, Please excuse me I'm new to this but a great informative site.

Is that a depth finder wire running over the swim deck?

I was actually going to post about this and thought enough to do search first and learn that it had already been covered. Didn't want my pics to go to waste so here they are: (Don't ask me why my ladder is bent... I have confessed enough on this board already ;))

At that price I can replace it once a year for the next 12 years...
Yes job done and saved yourself some dollar.

How long is the bungee bucket?

I’ve used the above ladder catch this summer. It was an exact replacement!

I used the end of a bungee as a temporary fix and it worked great and looked good, the wide piece at the end is easy to grab and hook on the ladder tab. The temporary fix became permanent for 7 years and still going strong that rubber is very tough
