I was working on my 2020 AR210 and noticed these gaps in the rub rail. I don’t know how I missed it before. Is this normal? Or should get into the dealer ASAP before my warranty runs out?

it’s like this on both sides too.

I've only seen a gap like that in one or two spots on the boat, and they have a joint connector over them. This looks like a strange spot for a joint? I'm wondering if they are running short of rub rail material and cobbling it together????

My 2017 had this on both sides.

Also to be fair, my 2017 took on water and I couldn't ever figure out what it is was... could have been this.

It’s in about the same spot on both the starboard and port side - about 3/4 of the way forward.

I’m mostly concerned about it letting water in, but it looks like maybe that piece is only a cosmetic screw cover?

The top of the hull and the bottom are two pieces. That rubber isn't what is stopping any water from coming in, it is SUPPOSED to be sealed. But many of the wake surf folks have discovered that when they sink their sterns with ballast that the rub rail leaks and requires additional caulk. I wouldn't worry about leaks unless you plan on doing that level of ballast....and then only on the stern. Otherwise, this is purely cosmetic.

My dealer sent these photos to Yamaha and they approved a rub rail replacement for this issue.

Unfortunately the parts are back ordered lol

Well, at least Yamaha is going to replace them when the parts become available.
