Apologies on the post for the folks above the Mason Dixon line, but the weather finally broke and looks to be making a turn for the better in the Tampa area. First day you could go outside and not see your breath in the morning.
My daughter picked me out an adult advent calendar of 24 beers from Costco. Got to say, good pick! They gave it to me on Christmas so I have some making up to do.
Heard a rumor about an eagle's nest just a little further along the fire road than we normally walk. Found the nest, and spotted one of the eagles! Not a great picture, since he was moving, I was moving, and it was a cloudy, early morning sky...but I bet we'll eventually run into him when the sun is out...
Set up the digital slot car set in the unfinished storage area for a couple of days while my daughter is still visiting. Will take it down when she leaves so I can finish up this space and get it ready for storage. Can run up to 6 cars at once, although I only have 4 controllers. Can also run a "ghost car" run by the system.

Brings back my childhood HO days. I remember my parents dropping me off at slot car tracks for the day running the small HOs and the 1/24 scale cars on the 6 lane tracks. Those were simpler times.
Glad to see that Traxxis is still going strong. I have a few of their products as well. Hopefully your buggy has some metal gears to reduce the chances of them failing. If not I’d be surprised if traxxis didn’t offer them as upgrades.
Saw this on the news a few days ago. This is less than what many places offer. For instance, starting pay at Taco Bells around here is/was $19/hr. I’m not quitting my day job but recall that in the mid 80’s when I started working minimum wage here was $3.25/hr. When I started college in the late 80’s Target was paying $4/hr. My how times have changed.
