Don't know why, but turkey vultures are one of my favorite subjects. Amazing to watch them fly, they sleep shoulder to shoulder with their partner on a big branch like best friends, and are beautiful birds if you just don't look at their heads! These two were out warming up their wings in the sun a few mornings ago.

Short haul happening now to check the hull, thru hulls and rudders. This was the last step to complete the survey of the cat. Dirty bottom even with 1 yo ablative bottom paint. Guy in back pressure washing the hull for inspection, shows scale.

Got home today from work and me and Jeannine put down 4 more pallets of sod on the side of the shop to the grass we already put down. Finished with the landscaping.
Electric done also.
Floor getting done before the end of the month

All overhead and side lights done. Very happy with the results. All led lights. Now just waiting for the epoxy floors to be done before anything goes in. But did order a beer fridge which will be in Sunday. Lol

That is a painful watch!

I don’t want to judge too much since he’s clearly never boated or been taught how to boat and he started with a big one, but there’s definitely some common sense missing there too. I would really like to see the actual boating and retrieval, hopefully they all survived.

Here are a few things I’ve seen this week:

1. What I thought I bought v. What was delivered.
IMG_3083.pngIMG_3081.jpeg
2. This year’s luxury tax bill for the boat (the county I lived in last year valued it at $26k), the bill is 1% of the assessed value.
IMG_3079.jpeg
3. Finally the latest insurance bill for a year of coverage on the boat.

i know there are lots of variables in insurance rates, but that's crap. did the value of your boat increase 51%?

this insurance bs is out of control. hasn't happened in my boat insurance yet, but house and cars has had a few years of 30-60% increases each renewal. i'll look up 'insurance rates in tx' and find that the state approved increases of 4 or 7% and yet i'm holding a claim-free home renewal up 55%. i guess we have it better than florida...we still have lots of insurers to choose from.

Wow, if that happened at the ramps I go to there would have been more than one person going over there to criticize and/or help the guy. If I were him I wouldn’t go back to that ramp this season. Forgetting to undo the stern straps is embarrassing, not knowing how to use them at all …. All that money spent but not enough sense to get a walk through from the dealer, his seller or check out some how to videos online? Again, just wow.

Waiting for my evening passengers
First time to have people in the water this year
