Here is an interesting story that just occurred today at 255pm
I received this email
Sir,
I own a 2016 Yamaha AR-192 and have right off the showroom floor; this was my first new boat. In my job I run military Jet Boats so I’m not new to the jet boat scene but am new to civilian jet drives. Damn my first experience can best be described as “Big Disappointment,” next I ordered and installed the TV’ers; another disappointment.
On travel with my job as I was pulling in I saw a guy at the Marina gassing up actually watched him maneuver up to the pier same boat 2016 AR-192. First thing I noticed; what does he have under that thing that I don’t. I kinda scared him pulling up to the dock behind him our boat is pretty intimidating, (actually it was probably my two contractors).
After talking to him enthusiastically he told me that he installed your CJS ultimate and Fang set up. Then after he gassed up he let me run her after about 10 minutes at various speeds and maneuvers reverse etc.. “SOLD!”

Virginia Beach,
He said that the location where he was allowed to test drive the persons jet boat was in Gulfport MS so if you are a member of this web site we both thank you for your open generosity.
I only wish people would do what webpages like this were meant to do " share information"! When people attack someone for posting their honest opinion just because they disagree or they are in one camp or another it totally derails the information and it's message.
Unfortunately it appears to be the norm.
This web page was supposed to open up information and promote freedom of expression on the site but sadly it has fallen short of this goal many times and this is disappointing to me.
I had a conversation with scarab mike when he posted the issues with steering on the scarab section and I noticed that the original post was re done and diluted .
In some of this subject the moderators were involved in trying to modify the content.
SAD because if the free flow of information is diluted, interfered with, or corrupted by peoples personal feelings it cheats everyone.
The members that make an important decision based on edited information will make a misinformed one
and that does not serve the members.
I do a lot of posting to contribute to the community knowing the politicks that go on behind the scene and I will continue to but I ask people to also contribute to the common benefit of this community and step up to the plate to share your experiences with all of us and not shy away from posting the truth no matter how it may be received or the fallout from the group of disruptors who want to hide the truth.
By attacking people they make those and others shut up and take a back seat.
So there is a method to their madness and it works , it happens every time and it works but it needs to stop!
So I would suggest that when we get people sent in to disrupt the flow of information everyone should jump in and ask them to stop PERIOD!
The truth and the freedom to post without the fear of being attacked for telling the truth is what this web site was supposed to have been put into place to accomplish and honestly I appreciated the notion.
When I joined this web site I was called at home numerous times by Bruce asking me to join and I honestly had reservations as I had a long standing presence on the other web site.
I only agreed to abandon the other web site and join here when the site owner shut down the site to control information and then put several people who were like myself often spoke their mind or just called it like they saw it as I am doing here and now.
I am sharing this with you because I feel that the web site is a valuable site but it has some growing to do in my opinion if it really wished to accomplish it's goa.
As I see things, I bet , even though I have not been told this!!! there are a group of members with agendas that will privately contact people that post things that they do not agree with and harass them to discourage their posts.
I sure hope I am wrong but I ask you to post your personal experiences if you are not afraid just to get this out in the open and hopefully put a stop to it if it is occurring.
I understand that people get wound up on some subjects but if you allow people to interfere with the free flow of important information you cheat everyone here.
Also for the record I asked people who contacted me to just sit back and leave this alone to avoid falling into the trap.
I said if they had positive information that they wished to share fine but not to go tit for tat or swap insults because it just diminishes the importance of this thread and their credibility is also tarnished, I don't want to see this happening here like it did on the other web site and I was just as guilty as the next one in that respect.
It's water under the bridge, I was one person who constantly tried to support Brian. I always told people to buy from the Y J B store .
I even let him sell my ezlocks where he made the majority of the profit while I did all the shipping etc and I was glad to help out .
After the spring group buy was over I found that I could not post anything. I was told by Brian that someone from this site was accusing me of being in cahoots with Brian. And he felt that any merchants who posted were actually competing with his store, I don't know how on earth that was deduced but I don't care.
I had warned him in the past that if I leave his web page I take my products with me.
He suggested that I go on his site under a different name and post so people wouldn't know it was me.
Well first off anyone who knows me from the decade of posting on the Y J B forum knows I don't really care about playing the phony, I tell it like it is and hope people understand that is just how it is.
In reflection I concluded that Brian appeared to follow a pattern of stirring up the pot and acting like we all owed him big time, therefore he was entitled to our support and donations.
In any event I am a lot less stressed out being off that web page even though I feel it was a good thing for a lot of people, now it has lost the majority of it's core posters.
I was contacted numerous times by various means and solicited to join this page, The people here can attest to the fact that I resisted and supported the old web page down to the end.
But once I was stopped from posting that did it for me.
I felt totally betrayed for all the help I tried to provide and NEVER AGAIN will I do that.
I wish them the best but for me I'm DONE!
If people want to get the recourses for information about their jet boats or just to kick around and socialize this is the new kid in town , so don't waste your time any place else. Just my honest opinion and as DENNIS MILLER said," I COULD BE WRONG ".
Jeff, I do not understand your intent in misrepresenting and trying to offend a diverse group of admins who have done their best to run an unbiased forum for almost four years.
Some of us use your product, some use the other fins. Personally I have used both.
We did make a request to you and Will about the current round of compatibility discussion which was
This is just a request.....
You've each made your point, and we'd prefer not to see this escalate, so if we could leave it be as is, that would be ideal.
Thanks for considering a ceasefire before things escalate....
Apparently you decided to escalate against the forum admins who have appreciated, encouraged and supported your participation.
To be clear;
We do not edit the content of members posts.
We do not encourage a members to support one type of fin over another. That is a personal decision.
Your competitor has carried out more sales that met the criteria for a banner notice so he has received more banner notices. That is not an indication of bias only that he has offered more sales that met the criteria.
ScarabMike's issues with Scarab are his issues to discuss however he would like. We do not have allegiance to any of the manufacturers whether that be of boats or fins.
We do not have combined political objectives beyond a shared love of boating. Those that know us personally know that we have a wide variety of political positions and often debate those in other venues.
Well I appreciate your response although I disagree with your choice of wording "
"Jeff, I do not understand your intent in misrepresenting and trying to offend a diverse group of admins"
I always call it like I see it, but it's your sand box so we can agree to disagree ! And move on .
I will add that we have gone to great lengths to try and let the forum find its own way. Very rarely do we step in to attempt to calm things down and avoid/stop battles.
Regarding forum "notices", we do these by request of a vendor when they meet our defined criteria. Jetboatpilot typically requests a notice when he runs group buys for forum members. I recenlty reached out myself to Jeff at Cobrasteering when I noticed he had a sale that met our criteria....we do this to help the members find the great deals our vendors offer, and to promote the forum so we get more members and more knowledge sharing.

As @Bruce pointed out, admins will sometimes contact members in "fights" to calm things down, but I'm not aware of members trying to further their agendas via harassment in private messages - I hope this isn't happening often. I would think the admins/mods would have been contacted by members if there was a systematic harassment practice going on.
Both Jeff and Will make great products and are passionate about them. I totally understand the competitiveness between the two.
While I was not involved, the old site was seriously tainted by commercial interests of the owner (not a secret), something that this site has NONE. The admins here are not attempting to profit from this site, it is free to use, and free of paid adverts. That's exceptional and stands in stark contrast to the other side.
Agreed, I have been a part of this community for 8 or 9 years and even back then this was a discussion and there has always been plenty of info for individuals to reference to choose what they wanted. It went beyond steering enhancement also. Tru-locks vs cobra locks. Yep I choose cobra locks, why because I felt it was the best system that suited MY needs. I did own both.
In the end everyone is right, because we are all boaters trying to accomplish the same thing. Having fun on the water, spending time with friends and family, making new friends, and enjoying the boats we love. Let's not something as simple as steering fins divide a well thought out forum that we all participate in.
So in line with the subject of this thread, I just wanted to expound a bit on how I am giving people an opportunity to see for themselves what system they like , https://jetboaters.net/threads/trade-up-deal.16696/
You keep your current parts for up to 30 days, Within that 30 days you either return the cobra jet steering system to me for a refund or you send in the thrust vector steering to me for your credit toward your purchase or you sell them outright if that is your choice.
Important information ,when the thrust vectors were installed the factory standoffs were taken out of the reverse buckets where the bolts hold it to the nozzle they were replaced with non Yamaha parts. My steering systems use the original parts so those will need to be returned to their original location. If you had someone do the install hopefully they returned those to you if not you should contact them and ask they return them to you
Anyone know a place I can get the bolt washer and sleeve that you remove when putting on the TV. I misplaced them and want to switch to the vipers but needs those bolts.
The standoff part number is 90387-08m30-00 available at the dealer or on line. the bolt is part number 97080-08020-00 also available at a dealer etc but I have 8 mm bolts that will handle that.

Jeff do you also have the washer? Idk what I did with those either. I'll be ordering the vipers on Monday. So if I send you in my TV you'll give me a $60 credit?

Hurry up and order! You are going to like the Vipers. Install is really easy just remember to use the loctite Jeff includes with the kit on the nozzle and rudder bolt.

@Cobra Jet Steering LLC thanks for your very quick shipping. Ordered late Monday night so basically Tuesday. He sent them 2 day which cost him $20 bucks. I paid no shipping and got them from FL to WA in 2 days. They were in theailbox when we got home from the water park. I'm putting them on tonight. I want to take pics to show the difference in size and over all shape of the vipers vs the TVs.
