Thinking of all you guys in Florida. Hope you guys make it through this unscathed. I'm in north Georgia so hopefully we shouldn't get too much here but they are still calling for 50-60mph gusts. Prepped the boat today and hope the docks hold up. I think the lift will help a lot because it moves up and down with the waves.

A 130 mph (209 km/h) wind gust was recently reported by the Marco Island Police Department. A 71 mph (114 km/h) sustained wind and 97 mph (156 km/h) gust was recently reported at a weather station in Naples.

Some broken tree branches, front porch light fixture broke apart, lost power twice but for less than 30 seconds each time.

Nothing major. We are on the same power grid as the Jupiter firehouse so we tend to not lose power and if so, not for extended periods of time.

Supposed to swamp Tampa with UP TO 8' of a storm surge wave, AND 20" of rain possible. Think of a 5-8' wave coming at your house. And yes, that is supposedly the above ground level height. Gosh, and my Sister in law JUST moved down there last month. WELCOME TO FLORIDA!

Praying for you guys in Fl. My In-laws finally decided to leave their home in Cape Coral yesterday. They just retired and moved down from NJ August 25! So they did not want to go. They told us, "We'll be fine, we won't flood we're on the canal" So my wife asked, what happens when the roof comes off? 2 hours later they said "OK, we'll leave".
